I am very pleased with the NASB Minister's Bible by Hendrickson. A pastor or a church leader who uses NASB will be delighted by it. It is indeed a handy volume to carry when you minister to His people in need.
1. The quality of the binding is excellent. Unlike many Bibles in its price range, which is glued to the spine, this Bible is Smith Sewn (pages are stitched) - therefore, very sturdy and will not fall off. Also the Bible is made in Korea -- Korea is well-known for their quality Bible making.
2. Print quality is also excellent. It is clear and sharp. It is large enough to be easy on your eyes. Yet, the Bible is thin and light.
3. This genuine leather is soft and flexible. This is not a bonded-leather (90% leather fragments and 10% latex), which wears down very easily. This is real good leather.
4. There is a section at the back of the Bible that has "Ministry Resource Guide" for every occasion -- such as: funerals, weddings, hospital visits, batisms, infant dedications, confirmations, graduations, moving to a new home, and Christian life, etc... A very helpful tool for every pastor or a lay leader in the church. So you do not need to carry separate "Minister's Manual"
5. However, at least for my Bible, it has only one ribbon marker and not two as it has been advertised. Maybe, mine is just an exception.

Anyway, I love this Bible for its overall quality and usefulness.

Considering the Amazon price, the genuine leather edition of the NASB Minister's Bible is an excellent buy. It is a very handy size. I especially like the paper and the print seems to be consistent and bold through out. I would have been willing to sacrifice the compact size for a little larger print, but even though the font size is about 8, I think, it is very clear and readable even for my 51 year old eyes. The Minister helps in the back are very good and cover many situations a minister finds himself in. So far, it seems the binding is sturdy and should be durable and last a long time. My primary criticism of it is the quality of the genuine leather. To me, it's thin. I like a thicker leather binding that is soft. I guess my calfskins have spoiled me, but the recent genuine leather Bibles I have purchased have all had thin, and what seems to me like, inferior quality leather. But again, for this price range, it is an excellent buy. As with the previous reviewer, my Bible only had one ribbon marker, and it was advertised to have two.

I just received my NASB Minister's Bible from Amazon (very quick shipping) and like the previous reviewers I love it. So let me just say ditto to everything they mentioned with an extra praise for the Ministry Resource Guide section at the back..it has already been a big help to me. One final note...my bible also only had one ribbon marker. I contacted a very nice customer rep at Hendrickson Publishers and she told me that the first shipments inadvertently arrived with only one marker, but that is being corrected. But as I said in my review title, this is a great Bible and a great buy with only one marker...if you're like me, you'll never miss it.

This is a very good and useful Bible.

I like how this Bible holds well in my hands. It is not overly big like all my Study Bibles. This is the perfect Bible for using out in the field, on the streets, or for mentoring some one.

I have to agree with the other reviewers that the leather looks, feels, and acts of good quality as well as the binding is of great quality because it is sewn.

The paper seems like good quality, sturdy enough to be used for your ministery. And the print might be slightly on the small size, at least for me, but the print is still very clear and readable.

The Ministry Resources Guide in the back is excellent. It has a section for almost every occasion, such as: weddings, funerals, visitations, moving to a new home, sharing the Gospel, mentoring, the Christian life, and many other occasions. It is a very handy tool to have in the back of this Bible so you don't have to a separate "Minister's Manual".

Now for the reasons I gave this Bible 4 stars...

First off my Bible arrived with only one ribbon marker, like the rest of the reviewers. I just wished Hendrickson Publishing had already corrected this problem. So I could've receive one of the newer shipments.

Secondly, I was disappointed that the Bible was published in paragraph form. I know paragraph form makes it easier for people to read and enjoy the Bible. But to me that makes it a little harder when you are mentoring some one or sharing the Gospel with some one and the verse you are sharing with them is in the middle of the paragraph and they have a hard time trying to read the verse even when pointed out. I would just rather prefer the verses in separate form.

But overall considering the price that Amazon is selling this Bible at, I would say it is an excellent buy and a very useful tool for anyone in ministry.

This Bible is fantastic. This is the perfect Bible for the new Minister. It holds well in your hand and does not become cumbersome. The cover is good quality leather and the binding is great quality as I have a lot of other Bibles that separate at the binding when you fold them. I would recommend this bible to anyone whom does external services as wedding, funerals, etc as there is an excellent collection of ceremonies. This Bible is a great sword for the LORD.

This Bible is just wonderful. I am a pastor and I have a copy myself. The Bible gives me everything that I'm looking for in a Bible and that is why I bought it as a birthday gift for my Sunday school supt. And he loves it. I strongly recommend it for every busy pastor out there. This is a Bible for every lay preacher or person who is very involved in ministry.

Still only 1 ribbon marker---wish they'd corrected this since they've been long aware of the problem. . . It is a nice bible with multiple maps and minister helps for baptisms, weddings, communion services, etc. Strikes me as a little dishonest not to correct the ribbon marker thing or update the product description.

I love this bible. Plain and simple. All of my friends in my preaching class in seminary talked about how nice of a bible I had to preach out of. It's easy to carry around, lays very well in your hands, and has (relatively) thick pages that don't rip easily.

Overall, a GREAT buy!

As others have commented, my Bible also arrived with only one ribbon marker instead of the two that is advertised. ( even the box that the Bible arrived in says it has two ribbon markers. Maybe Amazon is selling "factory second" and that's why they can sell it cheaper than my local Christian Bookstore. Other than the mis-advertisement of the ribbon marker , I am very pleased with the Bible itself. The Ministry Resources Guide in the back is excellent. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I think I'm going to love this Bible. The shipping was unusually slow and the advertisement said that the Bible came with two ribbons. In reality there was only one. It would be helpful if the seller would point out, prior to purchase, how slow book or library rated material travels. I can live with one less ribbon. Other than these two minor irritations, the Bible seems to be in excellent condition. pj
