Godfather in the HOUSE!, September 25, 2002
This review is from: Ministry of Sound: Sessions V.6 - mixed by Frankie Knuckles (Audio CD)
Godfather jacks tall with this double set. I love the concept behind the two mixes. Disc One is the song disc, meaning vocals. Very, very soulful. Disc Two is the track disc, meaning tracks. Again, very, very soulful. It is evident that the man enjoys what he's doing because once you get a hold of this set you'll enjoy it, too. Favorite tracks are "Freedom (Make It Funky)", "I Remember Dance", "Hypnodelic", "Heavy Gospel Morning" and "Alabama Blues" This is another timeless classic from one of the best years for House Music (1996), especially if you lived in England!

just plain stupid beats, February 18, 1999

this album is entirely done by dj frankie knuckles and there are no words to describe the beats. if you like dance music, you will be blown away by this here. no one can **** with this. it definitely is not worth $26.99; its worth double that, easily. go look through every record store in the US, and i guarantee you that nothing you buy will touch this or even come close. MOS sessions 9 by eric morillo should be your next bet if you like this.

Frankie is the Godfather, April 23, 2010
This review is from: Ministry of Sound: Sessions V.6 - mixed by Frankie Knuckles (Audio CD)
This is just like a Frankie set, I saw Frankie in New Zealand when he came here in 1996 so around the same time this CD came out. The set was about six or seven hours, and the CD is basically like a set he plays live. The first part/Cd is the more vocal based but, the later half the deeper house with no vocals. The second CD I prefer, it puts you in a trance - basically the first eight tracks are seamless with no major breakdowns and sound almost like one continous song , then it all breakdowns to the final couple of tracks. Track 9 Hot Lizard has the breakdown, and then Track 10 is Reach and this is the best track on the two CD's. I had the record set and used to love mixing the tracks, and wondered how Frankie would have mixed them, now I know. I have listened to hundreds of mix cd's, this is better than Frankies united DJ's of the world which came out a few years earlier. Even though I only bought it last year I'd rate it as one of the top two mix cds I've heard, my other top one is Renaissance vol 1. Please come back to NZ and play another set Frankie.
