Driving Hi-NRG from beginning to End,

From the first song to the last on this mix CD, Ferry Corsten introduces to you in impeccable Ministry of Sound style the best of tomorrow's club floorsmashers. Thats what the Trance Nation series is. Tomorrow's music for today. In this third install ment beginnin with Chicane's Dont give Up bryan Adam's flanged voice presents a great melody with a message - "dont give up" then is seamlessly fused into Fragma's Toca Me (an absolutely emotional melody guaranteed to get you going) what i might complain is the remix of ATB's Killer (leaving out most of the vocals) Des mitchell's Welcome To the Dance should be a favourite of anybody who loves some driving fast paced Trance. The second CD offers the newest hits such as Ariel's A9 and the Italian duo's Arabian Pleasure (look for both of these plastered all over the UK clubs) Jan johnston of BT fame presents her heavenly vocals once again for Tomski's Love will Come- to die for melody. Ending with a favourite, Solar Stone's Seven Cities with a soft harmonic atmosphere to make you long for Trance Nation 4

So after dishing out my $ on this CD was i not wanting to bedisappointed, cause it's a lot of money to be spending on a CD.The track selection is Superb with tracks from Chicane, System F, JDS, Gouryella, Matt Darey, Paul van Dyk, Sasha, Olivier Lieb, Amber, ATB, Moby etc. It'il have your Stereo rockin' Then why am i giving it 4 instead of 5, ur probably asking? Well, firstly, the mixes chosen by Ferry Corsten and System F were not exactly the BEST ones for that track and to fit 20 tracks on a Cd, most CD's have to be about....3.5 minutes (which is sometimes less than Radio Edits) so tracks like Paul Van Dyk's "tell me why" are missing the vocals and Olivier Lieb's tune Subraumstimulation is really Incomplete! etc so i guess, buy it if u can REALLLY REALLLY afford it =)

I expected better,

I felt that this mix didn't stand up to Trance Nation 2 or the Clubber's Guide to Trance. I just thought the tracks were missing something. Many of the songs have awful lyrics that detract from the beat and in many cases the songs are so short that they miss the real climaxes that are available in the longer version - for example, the Walhalla song by Gouryella sounds totally different if you listen to the original mix. And the original mix is hands down much better than the version on this CD. MOS should have done better. This wasn't worth the [money]. Wait a couple months and then download much of it off of Napster... Or buy either Trance Nation 2 or the Clubber's Guide to Trance mixed by ATB. Both are also MOS productions, and although they are slightly older, I think they both run circles around this collection.

Outstanding Trance Compilation,
This review is from: Ministry of Sound: Trance Nation 3 (Audio CD)
In my opinion, this is the best compilation Ministry ever put out. They should have had Ferry Corsten oversee all of them. This album is still great and I've had it for several years. Trance music was at it's peak at that time so if you're new to it-this is what you missed, although you'll still hear some of these songs played in clubs because they're so great.
If you're reading the reviews and wondering "should I get it?" the answer is a resounding yes.

One of the best Club Trance albums out there,

So far, this is my favorite entry into the Trance Nation series by Ferry Corsten. This one is filled, back to back, with probably the most great songs I've ever heard on one compilation. I could star naming songs, but I'd just end up putting down most of the album. Disk1 is my favorite. This is the more vocal of the two, and I generally prefer the vocals (although I know that most hardcore progressive trance fans hate vocal trance). Also Disk1 has a clubbier trance feel, while Disk2 strays more towards a darker progressive beat-driven trance. Although I love Disk1 there is still plenty to like about Disk2. All the songs have great buildups, and Ferry has a knack at picking out great track selections. One thing that people tend to hate about Corsten is that he has so many tracks on one disk: 20 alone on Disk1. I don't have that prejudice. Although I love to see a DJ take a great song and stretch it out over 8-10 minutes, I also hate it when a DJ lays down lots of filler beats in between tracks. Corsten does no such thing. Song transitions are quick but precise. He's obviously taken a lot of time to plan out the order that the tracks are going to be played in, and each song blends into the next with a natural progression. Each song is around 4-5 minutes long, and that is more than enough time for that song to leave its mark and not over stay its welcome. All I have left to say is that I love this album. Both disks are excellent and high energy. I predict this collection won't fad away, and will stay right next to my CD player for a long time to come. If you love trance, then this album come highly recommended.

this album is one of the best trance cd's i have. The whole first CD and the second half of the second are amazing. The good thing about this album is that you get to like new songs as you listen to this cd so you never get tired of it. Gouryella's walhalla, web's loving times ukw hymnotic are great songs. But so are toca me (instrumental)which i like much more than the original, chicane's don't give up, and almost everyother song on the first cd. So, buy this Cd and u won't be disappointed...

One of my favorite Trance Nation's, this one made me feel like going out and dancing all night long. The sounds on disc one put me in a complete trance...and the hypnotic sounds on two were awesome. I would truly suggest this to anyone who is into trance WITH lots of great vocals. This is hypnosis you can't get tired of..... but why did I only give it 4 stars?...that's because I find that Trance Nation albums use the same mixes as other Trance mixes. Great buy though...

Surprisingly enough, Corsten does NOT impress as a DJ,
This review is from: Ministry of Sound: Trance Nation 3 (Audio CD)
Ferry Corsten is a trance wizard, very high-energy, and a very skilled remixer/producer, but this album falls short of what most might expect. Although the track selection is impeccable, and his own remixes of many an anthem are mind-blowing, Corsten is just a mediocre DJ. The album feels paced too quickly, like he's rushing through both cd's, and frankly I think his live sets sound the exact same way - so I think that's just the way he performs and mixes when wearing his DJ hat. It's a fun, HI-NRG compilation, but not recommended for the seasoned progressive enthusiast. Highly recommended for those new to Trance and progressive House.

This CD is just as good as it's first, Trance Nation vol.1
I'm not sure why it has four stars in the total rating, but it deserves much more than that. The first song is my favorite and it's an opening song...

I am so proud of my discovery of Trance Nation. This is how I discovered it. In 2000 June, I borrowed a random CD called Dance Nation at the library. Sadly I had to return it so I wanted to download it. On Napster Music Commnity, I typed Dance Nation on the search and it gave me Trance Nation 3 CD1. It was 109 MB and 75 mins long. woooow I thought, a song this long! So I just randomly downloaded to see how it was like it and didn't even know what that was. Then I heard the song don't give up and I was like, WOW! this song is great! and now I am still listening to this stuff because it is just excellent! I love Trance with all my heart! So you should get this too along with the other CDs From 1-4 and 2001 (would not recomend 2002 and definitely not 2003!) and you find it amazing too!
