5.0 out of 5 stars DAMN
When i first ordered this CD, I wasn't sure if I would like it. I already owned Trance Nation America, and Trance Nation V.1, but I decided to get Ferry's mix anyway. This CD is unbelieveable. All types of trance, from progressive to hard. I recommend this CD for all the party kidz out there.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ferry Corsten is a Wicked DJ but this SUCKS!
Look, I have absolutely no idea why a DJ of Ferry Corsten's stature would lower himself to such depths as to create a mix CD for Ministry of Sound four times over. The track selection is highly unimaginative and bordering on cheesy. Just about every single track on there is a 'trance' anthem, and while many are brilliant, they deserve to be placed into an intelligent mix...

5.0 out of 5 stars Ferry Corsten -- can you get any better than this?, August 13, 2002

Trance Nation 4 does not dissapoint MOS and System F fans. Corsten delivers another phenominal mix of some of the best trance music from 2000.

Some of the highlights from this 2 disc set (which comes strong on BOTH CD's, unlike Trance Nation 5) :

Sandstorm makes an appearance here, and it should be since it is one of the top dance hits of the year... Also "Revelation" comes in (a great remix here) at track 9. The first CD is solid, you'll hear some familiar songs here and also some lesser known ones.

The second CD follows up strong, there are some very original remixes along with Corsten's normally seemless beatmatching... the second CD also includes a great remix of the theme from the movie "Platoon" (which almost brought a tear to my eye! ) -- there's actually some points in this set where I can barely notice the tracks changing over...

All in all, a great release from MOS -- Get it if you love trance or are a fan of Ferry Corsten.

I have Trance Nation 1, 2, 3 and now 4. I think the numbering actually is a fair progression from bummpin to most bummpin! you can't listen to Trance Nation 4 without wanting to dance. It makes a great cd to workout too. I particularly use it for the commutes, and it sure adds energy to start ur day.

Disc one has all the favorites. Classic Ministry of Sound when it actually was cool. Last good disc before the demise of MOS.

I have to give it a 5 for a pretty good track selection. This is my first of trance nation, I was disapointed with all the TNAs, but this is pretty good. Once comment that's neither for or against it, is that this CD moves really fast. on cd1 only one track is longer than 4:30, and most clock in under 4:00. Like I said, I'm not sure if its bad or good, but it is a lot better than the tracks being drawn out.

These 2CD's were amazing!!!. The first CD was good. The first four songs were strong followed by the others. You just can't listen to it and not want to dance with the techno beats.

The second CD was even better. I loved the songs by System F lost in motion and the end almost made me cry!!! It changes your mood for the day and encourges you in life. If I didn't have this CD, I might have failed school.

I had a long history with Trance Nation. Anyways, to make a long story short, buy these Cd's and you won't be dissapointed

5.0 out of 5 stars Rolling Hard and Fast, October 5, 2000
This review is from: Ministry of Sound: Trance Nation 4 (Audio CD)
Trance Nation 4, is by far, the most moving, energy feeling, dance grooving CD put out by the Ministry of Sound. Almost all of their CD's have sounded nice with their in sync mixes and popular DJ's. The first track, by Zombie Nation, is an excellent introduction to this awesome CD. I recommend everyone should purchase it and I guarantee you will feel the music.

Just about every single track on there is a 'trance' anthem, and while many are brilliant, they deserve to be placed into an intelligent mix rather than be strung together in chunky trance.

Beware compilations from Ministry and the other clubs, and stick to reputable mixes such as the Global Underground series. Thats what trance is really all about. On the other hand, if you like top 40 trance then by all means buy this cd and have a blast.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the USA...not so good for Europe, January 26, 2001
By
"sgtslaughter2000" (Denver, Colorado, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ministry of Sound: Trance Nation 4 (Audio CD)
In short, this CD is amazing for most US customers simply because none of these songs have been heard over here before, and most of them aren't terrible songs. However, for European customers, you will have heard almost all of these songs before (maybe different mixes - these mix choices aren't that good), and there's really no reason to get it. The mixing is nothing special, and there are quite a few terrible songs...which is very unfortunate, having heard many many MANY good things come from Ferry Corsten.

For any trance-loving American, get it. For any trance-loving European...get some Global Underground.

Quick note: For any Ferry Corsten lovers who were disappointed by this and want to feel better about him, go get his Live Mix at Trance Energy - it's amazing ;-)
