Reflecting a solid awareness of current thinking in crisis and family therapy, Atkinson writes to youth pastors and workers faced with teenagers in crisis. Although professional therapists provide an excellent resource, the truth remains that it is the clergy that are most often "first on the scene" in family or individual crises. Written from an evangelical perspective, Atkinson should be a part of the basic library and resources of any adult involved in ministry to and with adolescents.

Teens now live in a world filled with pain. They experience crisis on a regular basis yet often lack the skills to cope with the pain they face.

This book gives Christian youth workers some hands on tools to know how to handle the primary issues that EVERY teen experiences, as well as ones that may be less common. Any youth worker who wants to make a real difference in the lives of the young people he/she works with needs to purchase a copy of this book.
