The Minka-Aire F518-WH 44-inch Concept II Flush Mount Ceiling Fan is ideal for low ceilings with a total hanging depth of 10.5-inches, with or without the light. As the name implies, “a taste of things to come,” this hugger fan is simple in style, yet ingenious by design. Housed in a sleek metal body finished in white, the 153mm x 15mm spinner motor completes 184/86 rpm on high/low speeds. With a blade sweep of 44-inches, the three concave white blades are pitched at 14-degrees for efficient air movement. Excluding the lights, the F518-WH has an airflow CFM of 4600 using 40 watts of electricity. The airflow efficiency per watt is 115 CFM. Includes one 100W mini-can halogen bulb used to illuminate the optional integrated light that is shielded by a frosted glass lens or, if the light is not being used, a coordinating solid cap. An RC212 hand held AireControl remote system is included featuring 3-speed fan control in forward and reverse making it suitable for year-round use and can contribute to your seasonal comfort. With the reverse switch, in the winter you are able to move heat from your ceiling and circulate throughout your living area. In the summer you will save energy by the recirculation of air from the outside into your room and also, if your air conditioning is used, save on energy costs. In addition, the remote features on/off switching plus a full range light dimmer with independent up/down light control and is operable at distances of 40-feet. The remote includes one 12V battery and wall holder. This fixture is sold one per package and is listed to UL standards for dry location use in the USA and Canada. Ordered this fan recently for a small bedroom. The instructions are very easy to follow and the installation is quick. It has a three fan speed motor and is very quiet running. The only set back was that the bulb died after two days of use and since its a halogen, replacement is $10 - $15 rated at 100w 1000hr. I notified the company, and they did send a replacement bulb. Please note that the bulb is rated at 100 watts but output with light cover is about 60 watts.

I had this fan installed in my kitchen as part of a renovation in Jan 2007. I love its all-white surfaces because they disappear into my ceiling. All the finishes and the blades are completely smooth, so there are no decorative crevices to get grimy, and a simple wipe down is enough to keep it clean. The remote that comes with it controls every single feature--fan on/off/speed, light on/off/brightness and blade direction. Because of that, you can connect this fan to a simple switch and don't need to have fancy electrical work done to be able to control the light and fan separately. I have several other spots in the house that are going to get this same fan.

The fan came packaged very well which from the start gave me a good impression of the quality of this product. The instructions are clear and concise and the quality of materials is good. The fan motor itself is pretty heavy and Minka Aire was nice enough to include a hook on the mounting plate for the sole purpose of hanging the motor during installation..very nice. The blades simply snap in and can be removed if necessary by releasing a hidden catch. The remote control is simple to use and each button makes sense as to what function is being activated . The light output is equivalent to a standard 100 watt bulb but the halogen bulb itself is tiny. (Make sure not to touch the bulb with bare hands because finger oils can cause premature bulb failure.) The light when turned on fades in nicely and on-off brightness can be varied. The fan is very quiet and moves a good amount of air. There does seem to be a bit of noticable fan hub runout on high speed but no fan wobble or vibration. I would recommend this fan.
