Actually, this is a Minn Kota unit, not Humminbird. I just bought a new Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor and everything I read said you should have 60A protection of some sort. After researching, this was the best way to go (instead of a fuse box). The unit shipped very quickly and installed easily. I bought a 4 gauge battery cable to go from my battery to this breaker and mounted it next to the battery. I use 6 gauge for the rest of the wiring to the trolling motor. The only small issue is that cable posts don't give a lot of room to put a large ring connector on it. The battery cable I bought did just fit, but it is tight. The whole unit is much smaller than I thought it was going to be (not bad, I just thought it was bigger). I have not had it trip yet, which is good, but reseting looked easy with a little small lever in the middle of the unit. I feel good about it protecting my $1300 trolling motor.

I use these inline between my Solar panels and my controllers and also between the controllers leading to my battery packs. They replaced fuses that I got from Radio Shack. The fuse holders were made of plastic and would melt even before the fuse blew. No such problem now. The manual set is also a good feature.

These new breakers solved the problem I was having with my Maxxum trolling motor cutting out after being run on 100% for more than a couple minutes.

Ordered this for my new V2 Trolling Motor. Definitely want to to protect an expensive investment, besides, its the law now, that trolling motors have to be circuit breaker protected.

This is what Minn Kota recommends for their trolling motors and I can see why.
When you mount it make sure you position the manual reset so you can see it and reset it should you need to.
There is no way I would want an auto reset type. If it's tripping I want to know it and find out why and fix the problem.

Good, solid piece of equipment, easy installation, and the manual reset is a significant advantage. I have recommended this item to friends.

Very good product easy to install, looks good with an easy reset.
So far it hasn't tripped but hope it never gets to that point.

A little expensive for what it is, but is a good quality product. Order and delivery went without problems.
