I bought this motor about a month back. It has performed great. It is my primary motor for my 14' v-bottom. Gets me where I need to go and back, without draining my batteries too bad at full power. I would give it a 5 star rating, but I have only had it a month. Great motor. A little tip as well, I got mine for $177 and free shiping. Unless you need it right away wait for the price to drop.

Wow, what a great deal! You can't go wrong. I have a 1620 V-Bottom Lowe that we stack 6 people and gear in, and this motor just impresses me every time we take it out! The larger marine deep cycle battery from WallyWorld powers this motor for hours, we have yet to have this motor drain the battery and we have been out approx 7 hours constantly moving. The torque is great, it goes the same speed whether it is just me or 6 if us. Great motor! Great price!

very well priced for what you get. strong motor, blows through weeds and really is perfect for our small jon boat and the bass fishing we do locally. light and easy to take on and off. simply functional.

I was in the market for a new motor after my old one went for a swim. This seemed to be a popular model. I went with the 42 in shaft because it was forty dollars cheaper than the 36 inch (go figure). I was afraid it would be too long, but it works well because the handle clears my boat chair, when my old motor's handle would hit the chair if it was turned the wrong way. This is a good motor for the money. Pushes the boat much faster than my older one (even though it also had 50 lbs of thrust) and is relatively silent.
A very good value

I got a great deal on this trolling motor for only $180 when comparable models and even the same model normally goes for over $200. I use this on my canoe and it does very well! I use a 115AH battery with this motor and it will last me a couple of days of use going at power of 4 & 5 most of the day (5 hr. days). Very well made and durable!

Replaced a new 40# thrust MOTORGUIDE bow mount with this 50# thrust MINN-KOTA stern mount. Pushes my 18', 1100 pound aluminum bass boat around REAL GOOD...ALL DAY. I highly recommend this item to anyone looking for a stern mount trolling motor. I prefer Minn-Kota over the Motorguide brand. Better longevity with the Minn-Kota.

This motor is very srong, lightweight, and easy to use. It may require rewiring your boat, as it did mine but, will deliver all the power you need. I use it on a 12 foot plastic semi-V bass boat; Pelican (older model) to navigate all the smaller lakes where gas power is not allowd. I use two batteries but fished this motor all day with minimum power consumption. It is exactly as advertised and well worth the money.

Good price on this Minn-Kota. Even though designed as a freshwater model, I have used it in salt and brackish water since purchasing a couple of years ago. It has held up well, is very reliable, and with my deep-cell battery, the charge lasts a long time even when running under full power. The shaft flexes well during the times it has accidentally hit rocks and other objects on the bottom. You can't go wrong with Minn-Kota.

I had an older bow mount trolling motor which had electronics go out. Replacing the circuit board was nearly as expensive as this entire new unit. The shaft is the same length and diameter, allowing me to use this new unit with my old setup, at less than half the cost of a new bow mount unit.
This required a bit of work to disassemble the head, remove the wiring, break down the collars and mounting hardware, long enough to transfer from one mounting to another. Took a bit of a chance all would match up, but the results were well worth the effort! The only drawback I find is the low speed isn't low enough for my taste. If left pointed in one direction, you end up travelling too fast to fish a bank or pier. |
