5.0 out of 5 stars A good buy
I am very satisfied with this cue. I am a novice, so the mere fact that it was straight (unlike the ones I got with the table) was enough for me. It feels right too. I'll order another one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage
I'm not a professional or anything, so I have low expectations for a "good" pool cue. I've previously purchased inexpensive ones at places like Wal-mart for $25 and been very happy with them.

This review is from: Minnesota Fats Hustler Value Graphite Cue (Sports)
I'm giving it four stars because of the good price and because it looks cool (you don't see a lot of jet black cues in most pool halls!). That it comes with a wrap is nice too, if you're prone to sweaty hands like me.

But the graphite shaft feels "odd". The [...] pool guy claims graphite doesn't perform as well as real wood sticks, and I have to agree. Something about it just doesn't feel right. Also, the tip doesn't appear to have the correct rounded shape, although this may be intentional (so the player can shape the tip themselves?).

If you simply want a cue that's straight and better than the unreliable house cues at your local pool hall, this is a good value for the money. But if you're serious about your game, you should pony up more cash and go with something better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, July 20, 2011

I'm not a professional or anything, so I have low expectations for a "good" pool cue. I've previously purchased inexpensive ones at places like Wal-mart for $25 and been very happy with them.

This cue was an absolute piece of garbage. First, it was somewhat nicked up already when I received it. When trying to remove the UPC sticker with my fingernail, more paint came off it. When I screwed the pieces together, they didn't even go together properly and were probably off by a good 1/4". When I put it down on the table and rolled it, it was visibly bent already. After using it for one game, the bottom rubber stopper at the end of the stick just fell off. I mean, how many things can go wrong with a pool cue? There was no single good thing about this pool cue. Save your money. Go find the $25 Halex brand one that I bought from Wal-mart. That was is awesome. I wish I could find that on Amazon... I'd buy another...

5.0 out of 5 stars Still plays great after a year., January 12, 2012
This review is from: Minnesota Fats Hustler Value Graphite Cue (Sports)
I purchased "The Hustler" about a year ago and it has never let me down. I think most of the people who give it a poor review just drew the small straw of getting a defective stick which happens to all products. Problems like paint chipping, bent shaft, rubber bottom falling off, I haven't encountered one of them and I've been frequently (I have a pool table) using it for the past year.

The only reason I'm back on here is because I'm trying to figure out which kind of replacement tip it uses.

Great buy for the money!

I like the cue, but it arives chiped (replace it and still got the same quality). As well the paint chipes away very easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a straight cue, January 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The feel, weight and absolute, unwarped, straightness of this cue, coupled with the price, make this my favorite shotmaker. Found out that, all along, it was my arm, eyesight and/or judgment that was bent, not the cue. Downside: No more excuses.

First cue I have ever purchased and like anything it is not perfect but it is a real nice cue. Has nice balance very little finger friction. Looks nice and is a nice addition to rest of my set. Would highly recommend this item.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Hustler, March 19, 2010
I dont play well enough to hustle a lot of money as the name implies but it is a great pool cue and has improved my game. I am only a occasional recreational player but I definitely like to bring my own cue and perform better when I have the same one over and over again. It is pretty light weight too

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice stick, February 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Very nice pool cue for the price. Very sturdy and reliable. Some people have the same stick and they paid at least $50 more than I did. Dependable cue for a novice player or one just for fun.
