This is an excellent compilation of songs mixed with audio clips of some of the best Viking highlights over the past 2 years. Some of the tracks are fun, but they all are from the in/famous 1998 season and while Vikings fans can appreciate the little tributes to Randy Moss (The Rookie) and Cris Carter (The Legend), all the references to Cunningham make it sound quite dated.

But what really makes this album a hack job is that the songs are just random "jock jams" and have nothing to...

This is an excellent compilation of songs mixed with audio clips of some of the best Viking highlights over the past 2 years. The CD starts off getting you pumped up with play by play announcers calling touchdowns as they see them. Then the music begins starting with Rock You Like a Hurricane by the Scorpions. Next it is back to the play by play calling of defensive plays, this time Jimmy Hitchcock running back an interception. The CD continues like this, using audio clips alternating with songs. The musical selections are all picked perfectly to go along with the feeling you receive after hearing the clip. The songs on this CD are a Rock/Pop mix many of them are classics, such as YMCA, You Dropped a Bomb on Me, Celebration, Wolly Bully and Stone Cold by Rainbow. Overall a well mixed CD that any Minnesota Viking would love to have added to their collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a classic!, March 24, 2001

Any true Viking fan is going to enjoy this. A previous reviewer mentioned that it could have more titles heard at the "Dome" and that the reference to Cunningham makes it sound dated. But HEY, it's history. A collectible in every sense of the word. I would love to see a second volume that has songs like "Hells Bells", "We Will Rock You", "Start Me Up", etc., but I'm sure copywrite laws may be involved here. All of that aside, this album is by all means a keeper. PURPLE PRIDE FOREVER!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, classic stuff that any Vikings fan will appreciate, February 18, 2008

This is a great collection of music, and radio clips of the '98 Vikings. The choice of music and radio clips makes the entire album seem energizing and, if nothing else, the radio clips will make you smile bringing back memories of Cris Carter and co. and others such as Randall Cunningham and John Randle.

All in all, I would recommend this to any Vikings fan who wants to reminisce on the "good ol' days" (not that they won a Super Bowl or anything that year, or ever for that matter :/). But it does bring an air of nostalgia that any Vikings fan will appreciate.

But what really makes this album a hack job is that the songs are just random "jock jams" and have nothing to do with the Vikings. Where are "Welcome to the Jungle," "Hells Bells," and the other tracks played regularly at the Metrodome? and why is "YMCA" on here? They need to cut a Culpepper era CD with songs that are really part of the Vikings experience.
