Excellent accessory for Minolta (Konica Minolta) A series cameras.
This add-on lens is a real beauty. It increases the wide-angle capability of the A series cameras to 22mm equivelant.... and yet maintains the full maximum aperture of the main lens at f/2.8, which is pretty darn good! Also, bear in mind that this item makes a reasonable secondhand purchase... there are no moving parts to wear out. The image quality is fine,...

Nice lens
Use this, only if you're shooting something larger than a house. The regular setting on the camera will take wide shots nicely. Keep in mind, this lens is a monster! It has it's own bag & covers that come with it, a nice feature. Also, set your camera to W when you use this lens. It helps. Depending on your other lenses & covers/filters, you can screw this...

Use this, only if you're shooting something larger than a house. The regular setting on the camera will take wide shots nicely. Keep in mind, this lens is a monster! It has it's own bag & covers that come with it, a nice feature. Also, set your camera to W when you use this lens. It helps.Depending on your other lenses & covers/filters, you can screw this right on & use it in combination. A very sturdy lens, almost weighs as much as the camera. Have wipes handy! Also, don't extend the camera's lens with this thing on, for long. You should support the extended lens, when shooting up, as the weight will push the camera's lens back down. So remote shooting up, is out unless it's a quick shot. Other wide angles (with steps) will fit, but they have to be adjusted first.

If you want to take a picture of your couch from about 3 feet away, this is the lense that will do that. I believe it is 86mm verses the 49mm of the current lense. You put the camera into macro mode with the lense all the way in. You go into menu (function-menu, tab 5) and select wide angle lense. You do not get to zoom any more. Tennis shoes to get the right distance. Amazing how close you get before taking the picture. This lense is almost the size of the A2 camera.Super clarity. You can purchase 3rd party lenses that give you wider. Note: sony's digital slr is built in the minolta factory, and takes all the minolta (now rebranded sony) lenses.
