The Activa Compact 8 x 25 FM's high-quality, multicoated optics and BaK-4 prisms give you clear, sharp viewing across the entire field of view. Their short minimum focusing distance of just 8.2 feet lets you focus in tight on subjects like flowers, birds, and wildlife without disturbing your surroundings.
The center wheel makes focusing smooth and quick -- even if you're wearing gloves. It can be operated with either hand, letting you easily focus and track your subject.
To meet the visual requirements of each individual user, the sliding eyepiece cups extend and retract as needed, letting you adjust them for a perfect viewing session. The 17mm eye relief lets you view in comfort, especially if you wear glasses while observing. The diopter adjustment ring is independent of the focusing system, but you only have to set it once per user. The Activa Compact 8x25 FM uses positive click-stops making adjustments fast and easy.
High-Quality Optics
All Minolta Activa Compact and Compact Zoom Binoculars use high-quality, fully multi-coated optics and BaK4 prisms including light-transmissive lens and prism surfaces, to deliver the brightest images in their class. The new optics also incorporate an aspheric lens element to provide clear, crisp images with minimum distortion.
Long Eye Relief
Minolta Activa Compact and Compact Zoom Binoculars feature a long eye relief of up to 17.5mm. This makes viewing much more comfortable even for eyeglass wearers. The eyepiece cup is easy to adjust with a simple twisting motion.
Compact, Lightweight Design
Minolta Activa Binoculars have an exclusive neo-classic design thats compact, lightweight, and comfortable to hold - perfect for todays active lifestyles. They are ideal for a variety of occasions including hiking, nature watching, sightseeing and concerts.
Secure Handling
To provide a sure grip and greater handling comfort, Minolta Activa Binoculars feature attractive-looking rubber coatings on the top, side, and bottom of the grip.
Close Minimum Focusing Distance
Minolta Activa Binoculars feature short minimum focusing distances of 9.8 feet and less, which is necessary for viewing close subjects such as museum displays, antiques, animals, flowers, etc. in great detail.
Diopter Adjustment
This allows the user to pre-focus the binoculars to his or her own eyes requirements. Diopter adjustment is independent of focusing and needs to be set only once for the user. The binoculars use a click stop diopter control so the adjustment rings cant be moved by accident.
Center Wheel Focusing
The large focusing wheel can be operated easily with either hand, and allows the user to quickly zero in on a subject and track moving objects effortlessly. Center wheel focusing is quick and smooth even when wearing gloves.

The Best Compact Binoculars for Eyeglass Wearers,
By
This review is from: Konica Minolta Activa Compact 8x25 FM (Full Multicoated) Binocular (Electronics)
If you wear glasses (and don't like to take them off to see through binoculars), and don't want to pack around a lot of weight, these are by far the best binoculars I've found for the price (I didn't try the $1000+ models!). I tried the 10 X 25's and they were good, but the 8 X 25's are the best. Very clear and nice and lightweight.

Good Choice all around,

This review is from: Konica Minolta Activa Compact 8x25 FM (Full Multicoated) Binocular (Electronics)
The Minolta Activa 8 x 25 binoculars are light, easy to focus and have a nice clear view with a close focus (8.5'). They work great for those who wear glasses. The only drawback was that the rubber eyepieces wore down(Inside are little nibs) after a while and would not remain in the extended position for non-glasses wearers. I eventually glued them down and they are perfect for me since I wear glasses all the time. These are not waterproof but living in Oregon hasn't presented a problem though. I've taken these on an Alaska cruise and a Carribean cruise and was really satisfied at how light and compact they are. I'm glad I chose an 8 power pair as the 10x seem a little more difficult to hold steady. I am considering a second pair for my wife.
