I picked up one of these from the thrift store, I'm a photography enthusiast, so I figured for the price I would take the gamble. It's a nice camera for 35mm "point and shoot" type of pictures, with limited focal length, and a classic look and feel. I have it displayed on my mantle, and use it from time to time to take a few shots when I want to capture something/someone in a flash.

Pros:

Classic look (it is classic).
Easy to focus.
Battery indicator light.

Cons:

- Batteries are getting hard to find. You can order the batteries for this from battery wholesale websites pretty cheap though. DON'T order the ones sold on a certain auction site, they want a FORTUNE for them. Go to batteriesinaflash or other online whole seller.
- Limited focal length means this is really a point-and-shoot, outdoor photos with a near subject will be highly pixilated in the distance.
- If you store this with the lens cover, you will probably at some point forget to remove it, since Rangefinders do not "sight" through the lens itself. I took almost a whole roll of film one time with the cover on.
- The battery terminal wires tend to corrode and detach from the contacts on these cameras, maybe it the age of them, I don't know. But when I got mine I had to re-attach the negative terminal to get it to work (probably why it was at the thrift store in the first place). After research on the internet I found out that this is a common problem with this model.

Overall I am rating this in comparison to todays cameras, since someone might be buying it to use "full time". As a classic camera, it get's five stars, it's great looking and well made.

Recommended with caveats.

I was so excited to see a good priced Minolta camera that was said to be used but in perfect condition....I was very disappointed to find an immediate problem when I got it. The back where you put the film in worked almost like it was jammed and it took me and my mother to get it open. Then we had the same problem getting the film out....I have sent an email to the sender to ask to return it but I have been waiting and waiting for a reply. I am not pleased at all...
