My hair has been thinning for 20 years. My aunt lost almost all her hair and wore a wig in her old age, not from cancer or radiation. I went to a dermatologist a year ago who gave me a prescription for a steroid cream and recommended using minoxidil 5% twice a day except every weekend replacing it with the steroid cream as well as taking a high dose biotin 5x everyday.

After 2 months I ran out of the steroid cream and take the biotin infrequently, but the Rogaine has totally solved the problem! It is like a miracle to me. I have a full head of beautiful curly hair like I did in my 20's. I rarely think about it now but when I do, I am soooooo grateful to that physician! And I buy the Rogaine on amazon because it is the best price I have found! I never plan to run out!

It has not been two months yet so I can't comment on hair growth. But this must be said, as stated in the directions and warnings with the product, you will loose more hair with initial use. And also as stated by other users you may develop dandruff. I never have had this before in my life and it is localized solely on the area of application. I have got head and shoulders and this has fixed the problem. But you should be prepared. I assume that because all these warnings I heard before have come true that hair growth will appear at 2 months as promised. But just a heads up to anyone interested in the product.

You gotta try Minoxidil if you are thinning. It helps retain what hair you have and even helps with some regrowth. I can notice some fuzz in areas I had started to lose.

I started using when I was 22. I had diffuse thinning, a noticable bald patch at the vernex, a receeding hairline and the typical temple hair loss. After the first two weeks, I would say about 25% of my remaining hair fell out and about 2 weeks after that I noticed the original hair I lost was growing back along with lots and lots of peach fuzz. 6 months on and some of the peach fuzz had turned to small, thick black hairs, 12 months on them hairs were like normal hair. Basically the product stopped hairloss, grew back the hair I had lost recently and grew back some of the hair that had been lost for a couple of years and thickened up the rest of my hair! The only drawback is that since it is so greasy, it does not dry fully and can transfer to your pillow causing a big bushy set of eyebrows to be formed and your hair looks kinda dirty and greasy!

I am about 30, my hairline is creeping back quite a bit... So decided to give product a try..... Been using for about a month and My hair is starting to grow back in around my hairline... My hair looks much fuller, and I can see little centimeter hairs growing in all over the front of my scalp.. I know its suppose to work better around the crown area but Ive been using on the hairline area and it seems to be doing the trick.. Will keep using this product. Hopefully there is no side effects that pop up so far sooo good. My friend who is my age and who is also having some hair thinnning issues has even bummed a one month supply off of me, he is ordering his own as we speak. :)

Anyone that is losing their hair please try this product! I'm a 22 year old male that has been losing his hairline since i was 17.....Ive been using this product twice a day for about a month and a half now and ill say my hairline is 40% thicker already. I'm truly amazed at this product!

As I said, I use this for my beard. I had to discontinue use because work requires that I shave, so I figured there was no point to continue using it. Otherwise, it's great. It helps fill in patches on my beard and I believe even promotes body hair growth (which some consider a bad thing). Overall, I'd recommend it. As many others have had, it probably is best to consult with a doctor before doing it though.

I used the rogaine foam for 6 months, didnt really notice a difference unless it was psychological. Im just starting to bald in back (at the crown). So it was hard to actually get the foam on my scalp rather than hair.

This liquid seems better because it's easier to make contact with the scalp and you dont have to get it on your hands. Just started using it so dont know yet how well it'll work for me. Also the liquid seems to run down the crown of my head to the back of the scalp i can feel it. Luckily, I still have hair back there to catch this liquid that is running down.

Also makes your a hair a little oily and can make your head itch a little.

Okay, I was a BIG skeptic when it came to using this product. I am experiencing hair loss on my TEMPLES, male pattern baldness, whatever you call it (Not on my crown). Almost everything I had read regarding rogaine/minoxidil had said that it does not work on temple hair loss. Well, I am using Propecia (which if you are experiencing thinning hair, and you are a male, start using IMMEDIATELY!! No joke, Propecia will not regrow hair but it will prevent any more from falling out)as well as Nioxin shampoo and conditioner (which I would seriously recommend this product as well). I wanted to supplement these methods with minoxidil because I had already lost enough hair on my temples to where it was noticeable and I had to change my hairstyle a bit. Well it has been two months now and by god's graces it is working. Previously where there had been shiny forehead skin, now there are a BUNCH of little tiny hairs regrowing. I am blown away!! Some of the hairs are now starting to become thicker and they are growing from temple to temple and in the front of my hairline where it has receded some. So far I am very pleased and I understand that it takes a long time to grow but so far I am seeing great results.

Now as great as the product is, and as others have mentioned, there are definitely SOME downsides.

Minoxidil in liquid form is very greasy and if you apply it in the morning and try to style your hair, it might not look as good. You also MAY experience some dandruff. I did for a little while initially but then it became less severe. What I have done to counter these issues was to order a 3 month supply of Rogaine Foam to use only in the morning (which is a little more costly but SO worth it). Applying the Rogaine foam is so much easier and when it dries, it adds some texture to the hair you applied it to which (at least for me) makes it a little easier to style. Also it doesn't dry your scalp. You can save money this way vs. using only the foam.

Those are pretty much the only downsides (other than having to use it every day) but don't let that discourage you, it is not that bad.

With that, the choice is yours. It has worked great for me so far and I fully expect it to continue. Every day I check my bald spots I get so excited. I don't mind using this for the rest of my life, only takes a couple minutes (if that) to apply and you are done.

I have been using this product since one month and see no reason why it is less competitive to leading brand. I am more than surprised to see why the leading brand is heavily priced compared to this product. Must recommend who are looking for hair regrowth product.
