This product works great. I've been using it for over a year now to deal with a receeding hairline. The product says that it only works on the crown of the head (not hairline), however, that is only because the clinical testing has only been looking at the crown of the head. Real-world experience shows over and over that it works both on the crown and hairline.

Compared to Rogaine, it's a no-brainer. They both contain the same active ingredient but Kirkland minoxidil is about 1/3 the price. If you want to donate to Rogaine's advertising campaign then buy Rogaine, however, if you're only interested in your own hairloss then buy Kirkland minoxidil. Trust me, I'm a chemist, they both contain the SAME active ingredient.

Did it work for me? Yes, so far? Will it work for you? I have no idea, but this 12-month supply will give you your answer at a bargain price.

I asked my doctor and he said that yes, indeed, Minoxidil (generic Rogaine) will grow back hair on some people. Seeing this bargain price and noting that this item takes time to work, I couldn't pass it up. It comes in (12) 60ml bottles, each with a dropper. You slowly drip one ml of fluid on your scalp or the Vertex, which is the top back section of your head. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening noting that it takes 2-4 hours to dry. What? Yes, it's mildly sticky, like fresh hairspray. I use one finger to dab it around my scalp. I even tried placing a little in the front above my temples where I am receding. I found I have to carefully comb out my hair and it looks like it might be slightly wet. It maintains its stickiness for a few hours. I didn't care for that part of it.

UPDATE: At exactly three months now, I can see ¼" to ½" hairs growing on my Vertex (nothing in front, as Kirkland readily says). My hair came in as it is; thin shafts of silvery grey. It is nothing dramatic at all. But there is defintely no hair loss as well. I'll continue to use this for the year and see how much growth I can achieve. Kirkland does say that if not used, your hair recession will begin again after three months. For the price, it's worth it considering that Men's Rogaine Foam-Rogaine Hair Regrowth Treatment, 6/2.11 oz. cans (6 Month Supply) costs twice as much for only six months. After a year, I'll make a decision. I'd be wiser to go to the gym more often. Also, someone mentioned that it is poisonous to pets and my cat likes to sneak up on my work chair and lick my hair. I'd still recommend trying it and reading all the reviews you can find.

UPDATE: It has now been six months of regular daily use of Minoxidil. I suspect I have reached my threshold. I am no longer losing my hair, that is clear. However, I do not see any new growth since around three to four months. The circular pattern that predates the male pattern baldness on my vortex has disappeared and the 'ring-like' appearance has diffused into the rest of my hair. No doubt this is a big improvement over six months ago. There is also no new growth in the front near my temples as is stated on the product. However, I will continue to use up the 12-month supply and make a final decision. I still think for the price and the results, this product is worth it.

This product is so much cheaper than Rogaine, and it works! According to the instructions, it is only for men and for crown of their head. Well, I'm not recommending that people break the rules, but here's my experience: it works for women, and even for my receding hairline in front! Yes, it does make you hair thinner for the first 2 month, and that was depressing; however, it does wonders after that! I have new hair growth on parts of my head that were bare for years! It is a bit of a hassle to have to apply it twice a day though. However, if I don't have enough time for it to take the 2 hours to dry in the morning, I blow dry it with warm (not hot) air. I'd highly recommend this product. However, if you start this, don't stop! You must be committed...for the rest of your life (or until you get hair transplant surgery). I have a friend who started using it, and then stopped, and he never saw results. However, I tried to convince him to start again, and I showed him my results, and now he's trying again. Definitely try this product. If you don't see results in 6 months, then give up, but at least try it!

I started minox treatment probably 10 years ago. I have used this brand because it is cheap and allows the product to be used in a large enough quantity to work. I only use a night and then probably only 5 days out of a week. But I put 3x or more the recommended amount. I don't see how 1ml would cover the area especially since I am not bald and have hair covering the thinning areas. The results take a couple of months but I can see new hairs come in and also existing hairs get thicker. I am not embarrassed for using the product and regularly tell my friends that I use it and it has worked for me. If I don't use for a couple of months hair starts to get limp and look bad and all of a sudden people start asking me if I am losing my hair. It really makes that much of a difference for me. I know that not everyone is a responder but maybe my technique of using it heavily once per night is the ticket. I believe it would work for more people if they gave it time. It takes a couple of months to start noticing something. Also, every time it starts to work, you will actually get some slight hair shedding. If you are paranoid about losing your hair and you start seeing more hair fall out, I can imagine many people stop using it. But when I see some hair shedding I know that it is working and that it kicking the hair follicles into the growth stage from the resting stage.

If you have a costco membership BUY THIS DIRECTLY FROM COSTCO!!!! MUCH CHEAPER IN THE STORE! anyway the product is good and works pretty well, it made my hair visibly thicker in less than 2 months. but theres a catch, the liquid dries to your scalp and often peels off and it looks like you have dandruff. other than that i dont have any complaints!!

I have used this product and the name brand for years. Like another reviewers said this 5% formula gave me a terribly itchy scalp that I couldn't stand. In the past the 2% product didn't cause the itch, but it is now marketed only for women. It used to be called REGULAR STRENGH for all. At first I thought about going back to that but it never gave me any results. Instead I switched my shampoo, now I use a generic version of Head and Shoulders conditioning shampoo. No more itch with the 5% and I do have some modest results of hair regrowth.

You must use this faithfully. Like clockwork.
After seeing where my dad was and where I was headed I decided to act early.
Don't wait until you are near bald! Hair grew back nice, need to dye it
as it's all white but hey better than no hair for sure!

Keep away from WOMEN if you share brushes, you can't anymore.
If you can use this and remember to not rub your cat down with it
after touching your head you'll be fine. YOU CANNOT let your pets lie on your bed if you use this.
It gets on the sheets and pillows. Did I mention it can kill your cat?
Caution. Responsible use on time = keep your hair.
Also if you have heart condition don't use it, better bald than have problems.

My dad, my brothers and my whole family has boldness, so, from a long time ago, I accepted the idea to loose my hair, and I started loosing it at 23 years old, now im 26, and a friend told me about this, and I say, well, for sure I will become older, soo lets give this a try.

to my surprise, the product it self says that you may see some results at two months, and it was like that!!!!!!! now im really recovering my hair in my front part, not only the vertex!!!

I am very happy with this product. First, I didn't think it would work. But since I am losing my hair anyway and I couldn't afford a surgery or anything expensive. I thought to myself that I'd just going to give it a try. I couldn't even afford to purchase the more traditional brand (the one you find at CVS, Reginia or something like that) so I went online on Amazon.com and got this Kirkland's Signature. I began with the dual pack, which lasted for 3-4 months for me (not as long as it advertises, but that could be because I put too much on my hair everyday due to my anxiety to see my hair "grow" back as soon as possible). The first 2 months I didn't see anything but I thought I'd give it more time as it said 6 months. I bought more, this time the 4-pack (12 bottles) package. So now it's my 6th month now and I see my hair coming back!!! I have been using it in combination with a few vitamins, particularly Biotin which is very useful. Other forms of exercises also help (I think). The point is to eat well (a lot of fiber), work out well, sleep well, and the use of this product and vitamins. It really works for me and I hope that you'd also give it a try. Be patient! I thought I'd put some pictures on if I could to let you see how I see my hair growing back, which is fantastic.

I am using Minoxidil now for some months, first started with 3% from local store. But now using the 5% and it seems the first small hairs are growing.
