I have never read a book on the paleo diet and only picked this up to find out what it is. If you haven't read "Fast Food Nation," then get this book to find out why you are unhealthy; if you have read it, get this book to find out how you can fix your health and help to prevent disease. I have an auto-immune disease that I was able to cure myself by changing my lifestyle and what I eat. At first I was very strict which led to the disease going into remission. Although I didn't stay on my healthy eating plan 100%, I can confirm that spikes in the processed food that I ingest spikes my auto-immune disease.

I wouldn't call this a "diet book;" it outlines why you are unhealthy and how to change that. If you're tired of being tired, this well written book will give you plenty of reasons to change. I like that it has a 7-day sample diet at the end of the book which would give you a way to test it to see if it's something you want to continue. It makes sense and from my own past issues, I know it can work to prevent disease and reduce the effects of disease.

This is a great quick read, kind of a "Cliff Notes" on Paleo lifestyle. Sullivan provides a thorough rundown on what, who, why, and how -- including sample meal plans in a small book.

The paleo diet (or caveman diet as I always hear it) is getting talked about more and more so I got this book to learn more about it The book is a pretty quick read but contains A LOT of information you need, It covers why our current diet is bad for us, clearly explains the benefits of the cave man diet, and contains a seven day diet plan at the end. This book teaches a lifestyle that will make you live longer and feel better. If you have struggled with weight or health I highly recommend checking out this book.

I try to live a natural healthy lifestyle so when I came across this book it intrigued me. I'm also a scientist, so when I saw that this diet is designed the way our bodies intended based on our ancient ancestry and evolution I thought "of course". I mean our bodies aren't meant for high fructose corn syrup, their made for natural food and this diet plan follows just that. I am a huge fan of this book and I have already started to implement it into my daily life. I feel great and so will you.

Sums up the main benefits of adopting a Paleo lifestyle nicely.

Doesn't get bogged down in science and is clearly written to emphasise the main points.

I have been avoiding processed food, sugar, grains and legumes for around 4 months now, I feel great and have dropped weight easily. I consume dairy because I tolerate it well so I am not 'strict 'Paleo'.

We are collectively waking up from this dietary advice nightmare:

The Food Pyramid is based on Bad Science.
Dietary fat consumption has been unfairly demonized and will not cause heart disease.
Cholesterol consumption will not raise blood serum cholesterol
'High' Cholesterol isn't a marker for heart disease anyway
Grains are not healthy, whole or otherwise

Let's go back to just eating Real Food and reverse the devolution that has happened since we started taking nutritional advice from 'experts'.
