2.0 out of 5 stars So not the late 80s/early 90s version I was hoping for
This is an updated version of the original with new super buff and fashionable - ie no FUN! I wanted the original 8 minute abs and this is NOT it. Still good, I mean the exercises are fine, but not the originals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tough but Effective, August 8, 2003

I am a 24 year old female and I own a couple of fitness DVDs and I have to say that this DVD is the most effective at working my Buns and Abs in a short period of time. One of the videos that I own that is comparable to this one is Tamilee's I Want That Body. Let me tell you, the 8 minute workouts are much more tough. Although Tamilee's video is more visually appealing and professional, I still favour the somewhat cheesy 8 minute collection. I don't feel the legs workout is very effective. The arms workout could be effective but I don't really use it. All in all, I definitely recommend the 8 minute abs and buns section. The 8 minutes definitely fly by because the lead instructor is always encouraging the user to continue. It also helps that there is a countdown clock on screen - it really helps to keep me motivated. Yes, I find this video awesome. There is no excuse to not set aside 16 minutes a day for tighter buns and abs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why don't they advertise all the bonus workouts?, February 10, 2004

This review is from: 8 Minute Workouts: Arms / Abs / Buns / Legs (DVD)
A friend of mine showed me his 8-minute ab tape years ago. I tried it once and was exhausted, but could definately feel my abs. I always wanted to buy it, but never did until just now. I found this DVD including 8-minute buns, arms, and legs and I figured what the heck. All I wanted was the ab section, but this DVD isn't very expensive and I figured maybe I'd try the other workouts on it. I just got it yesterday, and did the abs part - that was fine - a little tough but the nice thing is there's a timer for each section so you know when the end is near if you want to rest early. After that I figured I'd try the arms section - which was too easy. I did learn a good arm exercise or two from the video. Next time I'll use 10 lb weights each hand (tomato cans!?). So after that I looked at the extras on the DVD - there are a TON! I don't know why they don't advertise these on the package - it would boost sales for sure. On the ab and arm disc there were like 4 or 5 extra workouts like "10 minute this" and "15 minute that". I tried one of the 15 minute things - it was like a rip off of Tai Bo but it was good! I liked it a lot - got me energized. Anyhow - this DVD set (2 discs total) has all sorts of extras on it so even if you don't like 1 section, you're sure to find SOMEthing you do like.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really like the Program:Needs an update, August 2, 2004

This review is from: 8 Minute Workouts: Arms / Abs / Buns / Legs (DVD)
I really like having the 8 minute workout. It makes it easier to exersise and talk yourself into one more segment. I especially love the 8 minute stretch segment as that is where I always lack in the exersise department. I would however, like to see this DVD updated. It would be easier also if they were all on one DVD instead of having to change the disc when I want to work arms and legs in a given day. These were recorded in 1994 and the format looks dated and old. Over all I am really happy with my purchase and pleased with the continuing results.

This is a great little "no frills" workout for your arms, abs, etc. It is exactly what I wanted. No mess, no fuss. I like "pure and simple." Just plain old "let's get to work for 8 minutes." It's perfect and easy to follow. It goes by very fast and I feel rejuvenated just after that amount of time. There are plenty of minutes in the day to do a couple of these workouts and to start getting my muscles back into shape... An excellent idea !! Thanks !! I love it !!

I really enjoy using this video. I have noticed a significant difference in my stomach and buns. Those two sections of the workout are great. The Arms and legs are good too but I feel like I need a harder workout to really tone them. So I recommend lifting for that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for new moms!, May 24, 2004

This review is from: 8 Minute Workouts: Arms / Abs / Buns / Legs (DVD)
I bought these to help me get back into shape after having a baby. I figured I could fit in eight minutes at least a couple of times a day. I am so happy I bought this set, it is great! Sometimes I will add one or two of the workouts to my cardio workout, or sometimes I will do all four in a row. The exercises work and I love the format because there is no irritating chatter. You have eight minutes and the instructor gets straight to business and works you straight through those eight minutes. There is an optional eight minute stratch that you can do on each of the DVD's if you need it. Also, the time counter lets you know how long you have for each exercise and counts down the eight minutes, which is very motivating. I HIGHLY recommend this set of DVD's to anyone looking to firm up their body and especially to new moms.

This Video is really good. It has 4 sections of 8 minutes for your abs, legs, buns, and arms, it also has aerobics, kickboxing and more. I really enjoy the clock on the screen and the instructor is really good. It also has different levels for beginners, intermedias, and experts. I love it !!!

When my husband and I first began these workouts, we were really out of shape. These DVDs can be used at a beginners or more advanced level. By doing these exercises 3-5 times a week we saw definate results within 2 weeks. Our clothes were looser and I went from a size 10 to a size 6 within 2 months. My husband went from 230 lbs. to 195 in six months. You will love these DVDs. A must have.

I have tried many other workouts but this one gave me the best results in a shorter amount of time. Each workout is 8 minutes long so it is easy to fit into your busy day. I have had knee surgeries on both knees and cannot do most of the excerise programs on the market but with the 8 minutes workouts I have lost one inch off my waist, legs and buns in 6 weeks. This DVD is excellent!
