Book Description

Four tales of Bizarro oddity and psychological horror…
Born of radiation exposure on the set of The Conqueror, the worst film ever made, the stomach tumor that killed John Wayne lived on. It found a home in a new body and became Lucchesi, Northern Italy’s top bomb technician, a man loved by women and despised by men in equal measure. After an attempt on his life and years spent in hiding, Lucchesi must return to America to protect his only son, Vincenzo, from the shadows of his past, and to uncover the explosive secret hidden inside the World’s Largest Egg.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steve should be labeled the "face" of Bizarro. November 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A few months back I received a fried request on Google Plus. It was from a man named Steve Lowe. Had no idea who he was or why he would want to be friends with me. I checked his page out and saw this book. Didn't think much of it and just went about my business. About a month later I receive a friend request on Facebook from a man called Steve Lowe. First thought it my mind was this man is a stalker. Then I remembered he was an author in a genre I was just starting to get into. I finally downloaded this book to check out what he had to offer. It was very strange at first, then as the story progressed, I found myself enjoying it. Out of all the bizarre books I have read, Steve Lowe is the only author who has not lost me and has written a well structured story for like minded weirdos like myself. Every other bizarro book I have read has made no sense and it seems as if the authors are just doing their best to create question marks in people's thoughts. Steve actually wrote a story that was not only strange, but made sense and allowed me to follow the story with very few questions. It has been a while since I read the book, but I think of it every now and then. Well written book and I have to say that Steve is the only reason I have continued to have interest in the bizarro fiction genre.

This is not bizarro. This is epic sentient tumor fiction. It's a new genre. This book really is epic. In a short span, it follows a sentient tumor through three lifetimes, while also following the tumor's son, who has problems of his own. Along the way, there is sufficient John Wayne tribute action and making fun of that whole Genghis Khan debacle.

I found myself lost for most of the main story in this collection. I'm a huge fan of "Muscle Memory" which I own the paperback and would recommend to anyone. But this story was a little too deep into the mind of Steve Lowe.

Although the last story in this collection has me glued and very interested. "Jumpers"

Don't let my review discourage you. every one has their own taste. Steve Lowe has two other novellas out that still plan on checking out. "King of Perverts" being the next on my list.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Afternoon Read... September 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Steve Lowe writes some crazy, but entertaining stuff. This one's about a tumor from John Wayne's body taking over another body and fathering a child, who then swears revenge on the guy who killed his parents--but not the tumor itself, giving it a chance to save his son's life. It's less complicated than I make it sound. I don't read much bizarro, but Lowe's work is more accessible than most, and there's actually a story here, not just the writer trying to show off how insane he can be. If you like weird stuff with a plot and have a couple hours to kill with a good book, I'd say give this one a shot.

More About the Author

Steve Lowe is a false prophet, a superstition, a bastard from a basket. They should have put him in a jar on the mantelpiece.
