5.0 out of 5 stars 3 paws up from my 3 felines
My cats love to chase anything, including little red dots on the floor, or up the wall. We usually starting moving the red dot on the floor and letting the felines chase it. Then we run it up the wall and they jump for it. At our house we have to put the toy away before the cats tire themselves out. They will chase the red dot until they see it coming from our hand,...

This thing stopped working very shortly after we got it. I recommend that you spend $15 and get a laser pointer that actually works.

If you need to get more exercise into your cat's lives, this is a good product. Just be certain to keep one hand around the device, while holding it in your other hand, so the cats can't see that you are creating the spot.

This has been a very loved product in our home for almost 4 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars REX SAYS 5 STAR, October 28, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
MY KITTY REX LOVES LASERS ! He quickly figured out that I was doing all the lasering but he does not care. The chase is all the thing for him. I can walk him like a dog with it, he just pounces along wherever I point. When he hears me click the button he comes a runnin.

Rex is the dog of cats. He fetches his mouse, wags his tail and pants.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best toy you can get for a cat, November 21, 2004

The beauty of the laser is that it works on carpet and hardwood floors with the added benefit of being "remote controlled." All three of our cats go nuts over the pinpoint dot--and it's never gotten old after 3 battery changes. You want to be careful never to shine it in their eyes as it is a laser and can burn their eyes in scientific ways that I can't explain, but it's well worth the entertainment value. You can definitely find a laser pointer cheaper than on this page--I originally bought mine in person at a Target store for about $9. Shop around in stores that don't specialize in pet products because they're ripping you off here unless the battery life is 80 gazillion hours.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh...*shrug*, February 2, 2007
I had been looking for a lazer for my cat for a bit when I came across this product. I purchased two, one for us and one for my sister's cats. We opened up the package (no small feat) to find that the first one could ONLY be turned off by removing the battery. Because we had to tear up the package to get to the thing, we couldn't return it. The second worked alright, but I agree with a pervious poster- I seriously disliked having to hold down the button!

While the different heads were "cute" with the mouse and fish, our cat never once took notice of them at all and they were WAY too big when more than a couple feet away. Even when we used the "red dot", our cat played a little, but his interested was limited. Don't get me wrong about my cat! We got the toy because he would wear us out playing with his string. We hoped this tool would allow us to be able to relax while playing with him. I knew previous cats that could play with a lazer until they passed out. Not ours.

I guess, for some cats, there just aen't a substitute for sound and feel of a real toy.

By the way, a couple weeks after buying ones online, I found our local Super Pets carried them for less than most online sellers (once you add shipping).

5.0 out of 5 stars My cats love it, January 3, 2007
My husband has been nagging me to get one, but I didn't know how much fun it would be until we got it. It has pictures that you can laser project and that would be fun for children most...the direct beam is what our cats like best. Just take off the exchangable picture cover and you have a direct beam.

4.0 out of 5 stars Archie's favorite!, August 4, 2006

My cat loves this toy, and so do I. When his energy level is through the roof and I'm too tired to run around the room any more, I pull this little boogie out and he's in cat heaven, while I get to sit in one place and laugh at him. Battery is quite long lasting -- I've been using it daily for six months now and haven't needed to replace it yet.

2.0 out of 5 stars Batteries included?, September 25, 2007

At the price listed, I bought three of these laser pointers/pet toys to use in my classroom. Unfortunately, one of the packages came with batteries that were basically dead. After a few clicks of the laser, the light would become very dim until the batteries rested for awhile. The purchase price seemed like a great deal until I had to immediately go out and buy new batteries which brought the price up to the cost of a more expensive model. Not much of a savings after all.

The different tips also diffuse the laser light greatly and the laser doesn't show very far while using them. I found that using the laser bare w/o a fancy pointer tip was much better ultimately.

Also, the click switch is faulty on two of the pointers. Sometimes when you click it on, nothing happens or the laser is dim and you have to release then push the button again before you get the full laser light.

If you're using it as a pet toy, it's probably OK, but I have been disappointed while trying to use it in my classroom.

THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR MONEY.

This company who sends FAULTY products out is a SCAM, they don't send you guaranteed working lasers, they GUARANTEE a laser pointer that DOESN'T WORK. If this was approved by the FDA, then it's the same as they approving it is right to STEAL your money.

Upon my immediate received package, the back falls off with half or less battery power left when used. I discovered that the back (when twisted to change batteries) is rusted on the INSIDE, leaving the laser pointer nothing but a piece of MONEY STEALING JUNK:

1) it does NOT entertain my pets,
2) it is APPALLING for teachers and professionals
3) it CANNOT be trusted to use as a reliable product

And the statement that came along with it is useless,

"5 stars does not mean that better than expected. 5 stars only means that you received your order in the condition that it was described and in the time frame that the shipping method of your choice allowed for."

So is this statement implying that they guarantee BROKEN PRODUCTS to be SOLD?

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE ON THIS PRODUCT on any description.
Therefore:

THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR MONEY.
