Most swaddling blankets that you get from other stores are all too small once the baby gets bigger than 8 lbs. This one is so useful from newborn on (still useful at 3 months) and it really helped our baby boy to stay on his back and stay asleep. Great product!

Sleep Saver!,
This review is from: Miracle Blanket (Baby Product)
I ordered this product before our son was born, and along with all the other things I bought along my pregnancy and after he was born I forgot about it, after two months of waking up every two hours to nurse I remembered it... swaddled our 10 week old son and to sleep he went for four hours..( dont let them sleep to long studies show babies get most of there nutrition at night time feeding...read on about.com) anyway he woke up, ate, and went back to sleep after a diaper change in it. he's napping better in it now! Thanks so much! Well worth the $ spent on it!

By far the best swaddling blanket,

I tried this blanket after my incredibly strong baby managed to wriggle out of every other swaddling blanket and technique I tried (the SwaddleMe blanket was useless). This blanket truly is a miracle! Not only could she not escape, she quickly relaxed and began sleeping for longer and longer stretches at night. I've recommended it to all my friends.

it actaully helped!!,

I was skeptical, but due to my lack of sleep was willing to try just about anything! My son was 8 weeks the first night I tried it, and he slept 6 1/2 hours straight!!! The key for us was to wrap it as tight as possible. Unfortunatly, he didn't use it very long, only until about 14 weeks because he starting to bust out of it. I WISH I had started with it right away and really gotten my full money's worth. I would recommend this to any parent but suggest you start it EARLY!!!

The best for baby with severe reflux,

My baby has GERD, and the GE requested that i keep him wrapped, and to get a 3X3 sheet to do so. Well, with the strongest wrapping, he would simply break free within minutes. i first purchased the kiddo, but he would get his arms out from under the velcro. after hesitation, i bought this item. it's a life saviour! as soon as i wrap him in it, he calms down. He kicks, so most of the time his tummy has no wrapping on it, but that's ok, i just can't have him naked in there. he's now 3 months and close to 14 lbs, and it still works like a charm. no matter what his ordeal is, this wrap is certain to make him feel at least 50% better, and whoever has a baby with GERD knows how precious 50% is!
About the price, if you want to buy the material to sew it yourself, it will have to be a long piece, and would be costly anyways. This time, the product's name says it all. The only area of improvement would be a longer piece around the tummy to keep it covered.

We called this the baby straight jacket! It helped my son sleep through the night from 3 months old! It seemed complicated at first and that the baby would wake up if you tried to swaddle him in this when asleep, but after a few nights it was easy and my baby knew the routine. This is a must product if swaddling is for you and your baby. Especially for babies that break out of other swaddles or are very fussy.

Well-made, but didn't work at all for us,

We've had bad luck with swaddling in general, but I tried this on the strong recommendation of friends and the reviews here. It didn't work at all, and in fact might have been even worse for our fussy, flailing baby. Oh well. It's also quite a bit trickier to actually get wrapped correctly than I thought it would be. The videos make it look like you can just flip a few flaps and have a nice swaddle, but if the baby is even a bit wriggly, it's hard to get right.
As in everything baby: your milage may vary.

Frustrating to use if you have a wiggly baby,
By
This review is from: Miracle Blanket In Blue With Green Trim (Baby Product)
I am sure this product is amazing for some people. Heck, a bunch of our friends SWORE by it. So, we ordered two of them. We have had them over a month now, and have only used them a handful of times.
Why? Well, our baby is VERY active - which you would think this blanket is perfect for, since it keeps them contained. And it might, if we could actually get him IN it. Yes, we realize this is more our fault (and his) and NOT the fault of the blanket itself, but it's frustrating. Why? We try to wrap his Houdini-arms in the arm flaps, and by the time we have one flap tucked under him and are working on the second flap, the first one is already coming out. This is because you have to lift the baby (obviously) in order to place the arm flap under him (the whole point of pinning the arms). So while you are lifting him to place the second arm flap, if he is wiggling hard enough, the first arm will start to come loose--and just like any other swaddling, once an arm is even a little loose, that's all she wrote. Also, you have to make sure the flaps are completely flat because that is what the baby will be laying on--so you don't want a wad of bunched up fabric there (again, a bit difficult if he's wiggly). Also, although the wrap seems very long, it's never quite long enough (especially as the baby gets bigger) to fully wrap around to tuck in at a good place. Friends of ours say they just leave the wrap untucked under their baby (and lay him on it)...but if we tried that with our kid? It would last maybe an hour and he'd be out of it (for an example, he shimmies a good foot down the crib between when we put him to bed and when he wakes up)...so if the blanket end is not tucked in, it would come loose quickly as he slides down. We will keep trying this as he gets older--and hopefully more calm in the pre-bedtime swaddling time... but for now, it's not thrilling us and it seems a very expensive trial.

Precious twins, now more precious sleep,

I am a reasonably coordinated person, but for the life of me, I could *not* swaddle our twins in any blanket that would hold up to the constant flailing of newborn arms and legs. Desperate for more sleep in the first weeks of their lives, I decided to shell out the money for this blanket (times two, of course). Finally, something to make them feel comfy and safe -- no more waking up because of their startle reflex. It instantly doubled their nighttime sleep spans from 60-90 minutes at a time to 2-3 hours. Especially with twins, any extra minute is precious and much appreciated. I think it's a bit over-priced for what it is, but I guess they can charge that for something that works!

Best blanket ever for newborns!,

Our son is a little escape artist when comes to regular receiving blankets. We bought the miracle blanket and since we have started using it, our son has not woke up due to him hitting his face with his hands. He has not been able to free his arms from the Miracle blanket and this has caused him to sleep three to four hours at time and he only wakes up when he is hungry. He is one month old now and we plan on using it till his 14th week. If you think this product is too expensive, think again it is well worth the money.
