5.0 out of 5 stars Grooming Shears
I have a bichon and a maltese, both of whom I groom myself. These shears are very good. I bought both the 4-1/2 in and the 6-1/2 in. They were smaller than I expected, so I will be buying the larger, curved ones also. The smaller shears with the blunt ends are perfect for trimming around the eyes and paw pads.

3.0 out of 5 stars Scissors Not Very Sharp
We purchased these scissors to use on our 3 small dogs. After one use they don't seem very sharp and the screw doesn't want to stay tight which causes the scissors to not cut well. I would not purchase this item again.

First timer on using scissors other than what came with the cheap clipper set. I love them and my mini schnauzer loves them more. At first site I thought they'd be too small to handle, but they work great--on ears, eyes and pads! Only regret is that I waited too long to get these.

Most scissors I've used to clip fur around my dog's eyes haven't been sharp enough and it takes forever to get the job done.

This pair of scissors is very sharp and comes in a [cheap] plastic case that protects them.

Despite the inexpensive packaging the scissors are sharp, feel solid, and do a very good job.

I'm happy with my purchase and would definitely buy other products by this manufacturer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cuts like butter!, June 13, 2010
I've decided to start grooming my standard poodle at home and I needed to get a pair of curved shears to trim her top knot (the puff of hair left on the top of the head). So, I purchased the 7 1/4" and they cut through her hair like a knife cutting through warm butter. This allows for great precision. The price was very good also. I'm very happy I decided to get these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miracle coat Philipino Grooming Shears - 8 inch, August 9, 2009

Have been forced to give my adopted rescue poodle/mix his monthly hair cuts. He was

abused (1 broken leg- 5 fractures - healed on their own - and two new fractures.

He literally screams when I took him to the dog groomer.

He trusts me now and I can groom him without upsetting him.

I now have a set of good grooming scissors - and this is one

that I will use over and over. I tried the standard shears from petco and petsmart

, but they just don't work as well as these Miracle Coat Shears that I have. And they

are cheaper than Petco or Petsmart.

Very Pleased.

We have a coated German Shepherd. Because his coat is longer, including hair around his toe pads,it requires that the longer hair around the toe pads be kept trimmed back so that the hair does not collect debris and will not get caught in a rotary tool nail grooming device. We purchased the 6-1/2" scissors and they have proven to be an excellent length for maneuvering around the toe pads. The blades have a good sharp edge and do not seem to bind as long as you are making normal cuts and they seem to handle coarser hair with no difficulty. I like that the tip of the scissors is slightly rounded so that if you happen to touch a tender area on the toes, the dog does not feel that they are being stuck with a sharp point. These scissors are a good size to use on larger dogs.Scissors were packaged well and arrived in good condition in a timely manner. They have a nice leatherette sheath to keep them in.

I bought these scissors to trim around the ears and eyes of my dogs. I would say for the price, the quality is just average, and the sharpness could have been better. I have a pair of the round tip scissors I had gotten at a local drug store for much less to use on people, and I would say the quality is just as good (if not better). These scissors are lightweight, but the opening for the fingers is a bit small, and they don't seem to have any bulk to them...thus feeling flimsy. I will need to sharpen them before I use them again.

Regarding the case they came in. It's okay, but I know over time, the snap is going to break off as it doesn't feel like it's great quality either.

Overall, they rate to me as just average. I really think you can do just as well buying these type of scissors at a local drug store or discount store (Target, K-Mart, WalMart), or even at a discount beauty supply store for lots less...perhaps saving $5 or more. That's just my opinion. Hope this helped you decide what to do.
