I absolutely ADORED these things! My fiancè and I bought lemons, grapefruit, cottage cheese (as recommended elsewhere), and Guinness Stout. We also had some Ketel One vodka, Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, and Bacardi Rum lying around that I gave a try.
My fiancè was not too fond of the effects, mostly because he doesn't like things too sweet to begin with. The tablets actually made lemons far too sweet for him to handle, so keep that in mind if you're not a big sweet eater.
I, on the other hand, LOVE anything sweet. Dieting is hard for me because I get a sweet tooth at least once a week and then and end up gorging on something terrible for me. With these handy, I think I'll actually be able to stick to my diet by snacking on lemons and grapefruit when I get that craving!
Lemons tasted like the sweetest lemonade. Grapefruit tasted different, but in a very good way. I took a drink of a Lemon Propel, and that also tasted very different, but still yummy. The Guinness Stout was just plain weird, but worth the experience. The Ketel One and Bacardi tasted like water, and I was able to roll the alcohol around on my tongue, something that would otherwise have made me gag. The Firefly just tasted like sweet tea while it was on my tongue, but something you should keep in mind is that these tablets do not take away the burning effect you get from hard liquor when it goes down. It was kind of weird, but I ended up getting buzzed by accident because I had a harder time telling how much I'd had without the icky taste in my mouth.
I don't like cottage cheese to begin with, but my fiancè seemed pretty happy snacking on that. We didn't buy any, but another thing I read somewhere is that cream cheese apparently tastes like cheesecake. Worth a try, if you like cheesecake!
We only felt the effects for about 20 minutes, though after reading some reviews here, I think I might go scrape my tongue and try again to see if I can get this hour long effect people keep talking about!
