You Can't Get By Without Your Friends, October 26, 2009
This review is from: Miracle Girls #3: A Little Help from My Friends: A Miracle Girls Novel (Paperback)
Zoe's character has somehow always stood in the background for me in this series. It's probably because she's soft spoken and shy which made me not really notice her too much in the other books. The other three Miracle girls have such loud personalities that they tend to overpower Zoe. Therefore I was glad that she got her own book with her own storyline so we could focus on her because I think her life was really interesting. Her parents are unlike the other girls and it's always fun to read about having to struggle with feelings between two boys. I liked Dean a lot and I thought he was a good match for Zoe.
In addition to Zoe's story is another subplot about their mentor Ms. Moore. I found this story to be extremely interesting because it involves a situation that many teacher fear will happen to them, where they try to do a good deed and instead become punished for it. The girls' determination to prove justice is admirable and even more astounding is the source of the unexpected help that comes their way.
One thing I've always liked about Anne and May's books is how well the story flows together. With some books, it is very obvious that there are two authors, as character's personalities or POV's will change when the authors switch writing. This can be very distracting as you feel pulled away from the novel and can be a big jolt. Luckily you never experience this in their books which is a huge plus.
As I've said before in the past, I'm a HUGE fan of Anne and May's books. They really know how to write for teens and they do it so extremely well. The stories are relatable and down to earth, showcase Christians in the real world without being preachy, and are able to reach to two audiences at the same time. Every teen girl should read their books (and adults who like YA too as well!) because not only are they good stories, but they speak to you as well. I cannot wait for Riley's story to come out next year to round out the series. VERY Highly recommended.

3rd book in Miracle Girls series is another enoyable read, October 26, 2009
This review is from: Miracle Girls #3: A Little Help from My Friends: A Miracle Girls Novel (Paperback)
A Little Help from My Friends by Anne Dayton & May Vanderbilt is the third book in the Miracle Girls series. This volume focuses on Zoe Fairchild, the red-headed, formerly chubby band geek with hippie parents has her world turned upside down when Dreamy and Ed, her folks, announce that they are getting a divorce. Her romance with neighbor Marcus is on the rocks as well after she is paired with new boy Dean on a history project, and the Miracle Girls are still working on restoring their beloved Ms. Moore to her former status as teacher and counselor at their school. Zoe is portrayed as a real teenage girl with all of her insecurities, mood swings, and worrying about making everyone around her happy. She gets so caught up in trying to fix her parents and her teacher, that she has a hard time seeing her own needs and desires. It's a great addition to a terrific series.

A Great Read for Young Adults!!, October 9, 2009
This review is from: Miracle Girls #3: A Little Help from My Friends: A Miracle Girls Novel (Paperback)
Wow. This novel is a perfect read for those young girls who are growing up into beautiful young women and facing the daily struggles and growing pains.
I haven't had the fortune of reading Miracle Girls or Miracle Girls #2, but if they are like this book then they are worth reading!
Miracle Girls #3 tells the story of a young girl reaching her period of growing pains. She has a serious boyfriend, who lives right next door. Once a truly shy girl, she is becoming more popular at school. And then there's the new, handsome teenage boy at school who shows some interest in her. Will this new interest cause a rift between the girl and her serious boyfriend? And will troubles at home arrise and upset her world even more? She has friends, dubbed the Miracle Girls, she can turn to-or can she, because they seem to be having troubles of their own?
Find out in this exciting new book from two very talented authors! May and Anne know how to bring characters together in a story that really tells of how teenage girls are really struggle in today's society. This book really shows a lesson learned: The life can be turned upside down in a heartbeat but with the faith and love and help of God and some really great friends, growing pain troubles don't seem so bad!!
I highly reccomend this book to all those young readers out there, especially if they are having growing pain troubles and need to be lifted up!
Great work!!!
