Same review for DVDs - Vol 1 and 2, as well as the book, Miracle Healing from China.

Effie Chow is one of the leading alternative healers in the world, as well as an award winning doctor, and Qigong Master. I was really happy to finally get her videos, and the book which she co-authored with Charles McGee; "Miracle Healing from China-Qigong". The book and DVDs are available from Amazon. In addition, Dr Chow also has a Qigong meditation CD which isn't available through Amazon, but can be purchased through a link on her site which is the East West Academy for the Healing Arts - [...]

I became interested in Dr Chow after fracturing my spine and suffering from severe chronic pain, as well as being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I believe the latter stems from numerous accidents over the years - 2 car accidents and one bike accident. My body finally said enough is enough! When western medicine didn't offer any real and long lasting relief, I turned to alternative methods of pain relief. Combining the two - Eastern and Western medicine has been much more helpful in relieving pain.

Dr Chow and the East West Academy offer many intensive programs to learn their Qigong method of healing as well as shorter classes and seminars for those who would like to learn how to heal themselves. The more intensive 100 or 400 hour programs are for anyone who would like to learn the complete method, but mostly for people who are learning to become Qigong healers themselves. Dr Chow teaches throughout the world each year and also offers private consultations at the East West Academy in San Francisco.

The stories of healing with Qigong are not exaggerated. Lay people can generate sufficient healing energy using Dr. Chow's methods to be felt by others and to assist healing, in our case, my daughter's very severe ulcerative colitis.

Ordered a used copy. Damage to front cover was more than expected. The book itself is in good shape.

If you are interested in Qi Gong exercises, this book is an excellent primer for learning the techniques. Many photos help to guide the new student through the required movement. The written work helps to guide the mind through the thought process required.

Highly recommended

If the USA, Dr. Chow's adopted home, had royalty, this healing practitioner would be knighted. I heard about her
from listining to Dr. john Nieters on his podcast 'The Balacing Point', and everything he said about her is true.
The list of her accomplishments is long and yet she is tireless in promoting access to the health practices of Qigong, which is
a powerful preventive and rehabilitative discipline. It seems her one goal is to make this ancient Chinese form
of breathing and movement available to all. her book is very easy to read, (although I confess some familiarity
with the subject), and, together with her two DVD's makes for a great introduction to and preparation for the
classes she instructs, (as she would maintain, there is no substitute for individual instruction). The book is
full of advice and insights and i have gone over and over some of the chapters for a deepening knowledge of this
unique healing art.
Done rightly, Qigong to me is more of a massage done without being touched --- it is pleasant, relaxing and the results in
the erasing of some chronic pains. This book is great for beginner wanting to know about qigong as well as those familiar
with the subject.
The first chapters offer scientific medical insights into qigong. The last part of the book is a how-to. But attending a class is needed to substantiate in practice what is offered in theory.
