4.0 out of 5 stars One of my most favorite romance novels!!!
I absolutely loved this book! I thought it was the perfect fairy tale and very romantic. I have read it at least 10 times and will never tire of it. Let me also say, I LOVE the dress in the picture!!!...just had to put that in. :o)

1.0 out of 5 stars Please do NOT read this book
I've read hundreds of romance novels, and come across many bad ones. This book definetly ranks amoung the worst of them. It starts out promisingly. Interesting idea and all. But it drones on and on. Why does the heroine like Clayton? Love him with out reservation? He didn't really do that much to deserve her devotion. Especially since he's spends most of the book...

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't be better, October 30, 1999

This book has great plot. I'm a first reader of her novel, and I'll start to collect her books. This story is funny, romantis, and will make you hate to put this book down. The hero is really perfect, and so does the heroine. I can't wait to buy the next novel by Katherine Sutcliffe.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best I've ever read!!, February 21, 1999

Though the beginning of this book was a little too fairy tale like, the ending made up for it. I thought the hero was the perfect man. You can't help but fall in love with him and respect his actions. Definately a "must read." It captures your emotions, and is very satisfying. Don't miss "Devotion" the book about the hero's brother.

Why does the heroine like Clayton? Love him with out reservation? He didn't really do that much to deserve her devotion. Especially since he's spends most of the book being a first class jerk, and planning to pass her onto his brother. Yuck. Not to give anything away (though I hope if you are reading this review you do not put the effort into reading this book), in the Prologue Miracle finds out Clayton's deceit, and then the book jumps back 3 months. By the time the story has dragged itself back to the starting point, it finishes in about 10 pages. I wish Sutcliffe has spared us all by ending the book 10 pages after the Prologue. Everything inbetween is just fluff.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's B-A-D!, April 24, 2002

This may not be the worst book that I've ever mistakenly bought, but it comes close. I understand the concept of "willing suspension of disbelief," but Sutcliffe writes a book that bears no relation to reality. Both the plot and the characters are unbelievable and there was no editing. On one page the grandmother is described as 60 years old; on the next page she's 80. I too felt that I had aged while reading the book, but hopefully not that much. The duke uses phrases such as "Oh my gosh!" There is no way that people of this place and time would behave as Sutcliffe portrays; this is surely the worst of her books.

I've read hundreds of romance novels, and come across many bad ones. And this book ranks amoung the worst. It starts out promisingly. Interesting idea and all. But it just drones on and on. I began to hate all the characters. I just couldn't understand why she liked him, and kept on loving him, even though he was a huge jerk, and passing her onto his brother. Yuck. I read Sutcliffe's book "Once A Hero" which also has a twin twist. It was definetly not one of my favorites, but it is much better then this one. I just kept waiting for the book to get better, for it to redeem itself in some way. Not to give it all away, but you find out in the Prologue that she finds out the deceit- the story then jumps back 3 months. When the book finally drags up to that point again, it finishes in about 10 pages. I wish Sutcliffe and spared us all and finished the book 10 pages after the Prologue. The stuff inbetween was just fluff.
