I love the principles behind having a morning routine. Some have suggested you don't need the mornings to do all this. No you don't, but I believe it's the best way. The reason is when you go through your daily life, you can't control what happens to you. However you can control how you start your day. So no matter what craziness happens during the day, you've made time to focus on yourself and personal growth. Also it gets you ready for the day. If you feel grateful, do your affirmations, get the blood flowing, and focus on the goals you want to achieve for yourself in the morning, the rest of the day you're going to see the world through that filter.

If you wake up and watch the news, check what your friends are complaining about on Facebook, watch some TV, grab a quick sugar filled breakfast and then head out the door to start your day, then you've set yourself up for a lazy and unproductive. Do that for 365 days and see what happens.

I know because my morning routine did nothing for me. I worked at a restaurant so I didn't work till nights. I'd sleep in, watch tv, check my email, check social media, eat breakfast while doing this, and then do this until lunch time. After lunch, I'd do more of the same until it was time for work.

Hal's book speaks to me like an old friend teaching me the best way to maximize my mornings. I like that he doesn't come off like a guru. He sounds like a regular guy who's overcome a lot in his life and discovered the one thing that makes him able to achieve so much in life.

There's no guessing what you need to do. He lays out a plan for you that has not only worked for him, but his coaching clients.

Excellent Book!!! I almost didn't get the book because I read the 1 star reviews and they said it was a simplistic redo of the same messages many others had done. Well, I am so happy I went ahead and bought it in spite of the negative reviews. As you can see I'm a 5 star for the book. I heard Hal Elrod on a webinar and was excited to read the book based upon his presentation, there were a lot of 5 star reviews and I decided to get it. After reading the book, I do not understand the negativity of the 1 star reviewers. Condensing important behaviors into actionable action steps is a good thing in my evaluation. Keeping it simple even better. I found it to be a very smooth transition into the new routine.

Why the high rating from me? I am now exercising 6 days per week and enjoying it. To exercise has been on my goals list for five years and I just couldn't get back to it until I read Miracle Morning. I am also reading every morning and I learned a new technique for me that I include too.
Some of the other things I was already doing, but the read provided reinforcement and encouragement to keep doing them.

If you are into self improvement, life-long learning and actionable implementation steps, then get this book.

Hal Elrod is an inspiring guy.

At 20 years old he was hit head on by a drunk driver. At 70 mph. (Ouch.) He was found dead. (Yikes.) After 6 minutes of that (near-)death experience, he spent several days in a coma and awoke to discover he had suffered brain damage and was told that he may never walk again. I just hit day 10, so I'm not through the whole 30-day challenge yet, but it's been an amazing process so far. I've been one who's wanted to incorporate each of the Life SAVERS elements in my day, but haven't been able to. I kept thinking each part would just usurp the other and I couldn't decide. And I'm so not a morning person, night owl all the way. But this simple but brilliant plan to put these things altogether and group them at the beginning of the day has had me getting up earlier than I had been in quite awhile. It's certainly helpful as a freelancer and a writer to have this discipline and start incorporating these great behaviors that will help with personal development and serenity and happiness, and finding a way that works and isn't that difficult. I especially like his chapter on what to expect when taking on this pattern of change--and any new habit. It's totally honest and super helpful to know what to expect in the first 10, second 10, and third 10 days of changing a behavior. Accountability partnering is a great idea too. Finding this has been serendipitous--or perhaps it was just me manifesting a teacher. Thank you, Hal!
