I have been using the Bowen Therapy system for 1-½ years now and I can say that it is defiantly a great technique. I am a licensed soft tissue therapist so I have the opportunity to use it quite frequently. It is well worth learning. However, I was hopping to use the video as a training tool and refresher for the Bowen system but it only presents the first 3 basic moves (low back, upper back & neck). This represents about 20% of the full system. If you were going to treat someone with low back pain you would want to know the other moves that can effect the low back. You may give the treatment to a friend or loved one and not get the response that you were looking for because their back pain may involve the pelvis, hamstrings, knee, feet, etc. and you do not get these treatment moves in this video. Just be aware that there is a lot more to Bowen Therapy then is in this video.

Right after I received the tape, my husband and I tried it. He followed along step by step. Gerri made it very simple, as he has NO MASSAGE EXPERIENCE. I was a little scared, so I began to pray and stuck it out. I did as the rest of tape prescribed and went to bed, but without my heating pad and warm rice bag.

The next day I woke up feeling rather strange and prickly all over, like when your foot falls asleep. I drank my water but forced myself to keep moving unless it got painful. Day two, I was mobile like I haven't been in 3 years! Well except for early morning stiffness, which leaves sooner than it used to, I am feeling great! I have had 3 sessions now. Each time during the session there is pain, but thanks to God, to Tom Bowen, to Gerri Shapiro and to my sweet fumbling husband, I am getting better.

I was a skeptic, but it is working. (And I have an inch and a half medical record dating back to January 1999 to attest to all the years of suffering I've had.)

I purchased this video to help several family members gain some pain relief. I followed all 10 sets of Bowen moves carefully. The instructions were very clear and simple and I was able to follow along easily, even though I didn't have any previous bodywork training. After each session I encouraged family members to follow up on the suggested actions of walking, drinking water and waiting at least a week before having any other bodywork. The results were wonderful! My sister-in law (a skeptic) was shocked that her hip pain was greatly reduced and my mom gained a lot of relief from her fibromyalgia pain. I am so excited about the results, that I am now seriously thinking of training to become a Bowen Practitioner, so I can learn all of the advanced moves. I think that for people who do not live near a practitioner, this video is an excellent resource for helping their family and friends get rid of pain.

With beautiful peaceful Hawaiian scenes as the backdrop, Gerri used simple metaphors in nature to teach me how Bowen dissolves energy blocks and pain throughout the body. The question and answer section covered all I might want to know before starting any treament.

Gerri guided me through every single step of every movement and every hand position of a Bowen treatment. I personally feel that by studying this video alone, I could give a Bowen session. The video leaves absolutely no room for error.

It is an awesome teaching tool! I highly recommend it!

I've suffered from severe arthritis for many years. It was so bad that it was hard to get a good night's sleep. Every time I moved the pain woke me up. I used a walker to get around to take the pressure off my legs.

When a friend suggested I try the Bowen Technique, I was skeptical that anything so gentle could do me any good, but I agreed to try it.

After my first session, I got off the bed and walked right into the kitchen... forgetting my walker. I couldn't believe it! That night I slept through the night for the first time in six years. Amazing!

This video is fabulous! Very professional and visually very beautiful. I liked the simplicity of the presentation, the clear, easy instructions and the repetition. I laughed at the humor and loved the fact that it was like she came over to my house to visit! I look forward to helping my friends and family get relief from pain and stress.

The video was GREAT... the scenery fantastic, video well-done, the moves shown in a very easy way. And to be quite honest, I have bought a lot of "massage technique" videos that cost as much as $69.95, and are not as well-done, clear or informative as this one. The price is more than reasonable for what you get! I am so pleased with the video. I can hardly wait to see my own body react and to start practicing on others from the video."

I've tried many other massage and bodywork tapes, but this is the only one that really helped me to get rid of pain and stress. Gerri is a wonderful instructor. Clear. Easy to follow. Her relaxed manner complements the routines. My partner and I were easily able to follow along. But the best news is that I feel a lot more relaxed and my partner's back pain and sciatica are now gone and have not returned! We are both really impressed. The video definitely got rave reviews at our house! Highly recommended!

Miracle Pain Relief is an introductory Bowen technique video intended for people of all ages with no prior knowledge of body work. Mrs. Shapiro gently and clearly walks the viewer thru the 10 sets of moves on lower back, upper back, and neck. Again, this is a very basic but effective introduction to Bowen. I want to add that what I learned in this video alone alleviated a severely painful episode of sciatica when nothing else helped. Such an episode would usually take 2-4 weeks to clear up, but with Bowen it started getting better in 3 days and was completely gone in 10 days and has never returned. I've suffered with sciatica off and on for 20 years, so what Bowen Therapy did for me is nothing short of a miracle to me.

Additionally, it's been very useful in helping little aches and pains that hurt but one wouldn't go to a doctor for--headaches, neck strains, back ache, etc. I can't recommend this video and Bowen Therapy enough.

A few weeks ago I ordered the Miracle Pain Relief Video for my 87 year old dad's headaches. He was in constant pain. What a blessing! His headaches are history after two sessions! I am so excited about the Bowen Technique.
