Tres is 'living proof' that eating well and finding health are possible, and that you don't have to be stuck with over 100 lbs. to lose! I saw her on my local morning news and decided to buy her book on Amazon. This book is designed to change your life if you step up and decide to make the changes stick. I'm also a 'foodie' and appreciated Tres' perspective that food is to be enjoyed and the process of losing weight does not require us to 'punish' ourselves, but to make the most of the wonderful food choices that exist. The recipes alone are worth the purchase price!! Her approach to exercise is realistic and the whole book is encouraging. What a bargain to get such well thought out guidance for the cover price of her book! Thanks Tres!

I loved this book. There are so many diet books out there that you just tend not pay attention any more ....but this is one is different ...down to earth, easy to read and makes you think....just stop and think about what makes you eat, why are you making these choices , and finally realize that there is no miracle pill.
Great book!

I enjoyed this book so much because it reinforces practical principles for good health, nutrition, exercise and choices. There are no tricks -- Ms. Hatch's book shares her insights for losing 110 pounds, but these concepts apply for losing 5 pounds and feeling better about your overall health every day. I am now more conscious about my choices for every meal and every day, but I don't have to feel deprived either. She doesn't promote depriving yourself of treats at all rather promotes how do you enjoy these in moderation. The book also provides easy recipes and tips to reinforce the key principles. I plan to keep this in a kitchen drawer and refer to the concepts frequently.

This book is a fun, inspiring read. I have a tendency to emotional overeating and find the suggestions in this book very helpful in changing my relationship with food.
More importantly, I am more at peace with my body. I'm learning to work WITH my body, not against it.
I read through the book quickly and am now going through it again more slowly to really integrate and experiment with each truth.
I feel everyone will benefit in the long run by focusing on health, not appearances alone.

If you are struggling with weight issues or compulsive eating habits, READ THIS BOOK!!! I have read it a couple of times and often reread some sections. I also love the recipes. I used to never cook, but after making a few of Tres' recipes, I spend more time in the kitchen, since my health is worth it!

I love that it isn't a specific program or diet plan. It basically helps you listen to your body and feed it what it needs. To feel your optimal best, 75% of your daily fuel should come from plant sources (whole grains, vegetables, beans, etc). The other 25% is meats, dairy, and TREATS!!! That's right, you get a treat every day if you need one!

It isn't a matter of will power. If you walk into a room full of desserts (my weakness), instead of saying, "Oh, these look so good, but they're bad for me, so I shouldn't eat them", you listen to your body. If you feel like having a treat, by all means, have a treat! Listen to your body cues while you eat it. When you are satisfied, stop eating it. It's all about how you prefer to feel and eating foods that will make you feel energetic and not sluggish and bloated. There really are no "good" or "bad" foods. Some foods are just simply better "rocket fuel" than others.

I have suffered from binging and compulsive eating, and I can honestly say those habits are GONE. Forever!! I see a binge for what it is. I would binge because I always felt like there were "forbidden" foods, so a binge would just be a rebellious streak, "See, I'm eating forbidden food, and lots of it, and nothing will stop me!" Then it would always be accompanied by guilt and self-punishment. I have stopped this cycle and have been losing weight without deprivation, counting calories, food restriction, or any form of dieting whatsoever.

This book has changed my life!!!! I never write reviews, but I feel so passionately about this book that I share it with many of my family and friends.

All of society wants the Miracle Pill - Tres Prier Hatch gives it to us! I was excited to begin reading this book, and I wasn't dissappointed. We all know that we have problems we need to fix, but we want to fix them NOW. Tres helps us understand why the "quick fix" is the very thing we DON'T need. You can diet, you can exercise, but it doesn't guarantee that you will lose weight or size. Most of those who try to lose weight end up sabotaging themselves or just giving up before the real results can manifest. Even if you get the weight off with a great diet, you struggle to keep it off once you are "back to normal." Tres teaches us with her book, and personal experience, that a true lifechange is the only way to successfully manage your health and life.

I liked the Preface to the book, which is a suggestion on how to use the book:

1. Please subject this book to hard use. Read with a pen and mark it up, make notes in the margins, treat it as a working manual. Miracle Pill is not intended to be another dust-gathering self-help book sitting unused on the shelf. When your personal notes and food splatters dot the pages and the binding is worn, you will have your money's worth.

Tres also asks that you read each chapter and then absorb it before moving to the next one. While I couldn't do that for this review, I fully agree that it is the best way to absorb the truths that are revealed inside this gem. I fully plan to go back through this book and abuse it as recommended.

I found the book to be well written and personable. I like the space provided for the reader to write down the excercises where they are discussed. What better way to get to the core of your feelings, rather than postpone until you can find the paper and pen to do the self-analysis!
