Miracle Pain Relief! is an introductory Bowen technique video intended for people of all ages with no prior knowledge of body work. Mrs. Shapiro gently and clearly walks the viewer thru the 10 sets of moves on lower back, upper back, and neck. The moves can be a little confusing at first, but the video is so clear it's really fool proof. The Q & A section answers most of the questions one has about this new therapy. The scenes of Hawaii are nice, too. Again, this is a very basic but effective introduction to Bowen. When you're ready for more, I'd suggest the books by Julian Baker and Gene Dobkin, and then take a class. The only shortcoming I can think of is that the photos of positions in the booklet are not specific enough about movement directions and where lines are--but with watching the video you'll figure it out. I want to add that what I learned in this video alone alleviated a severly painful episode of sciatica when nothing else helped. Such an episode would usually take 2-4 weeks to clear up, but with Bowen it started getting better in 3 days and was completely gone in 10 days and has never returned. I've suffered with sciatica off and on for 20 years, so what Bowen Therapy did for me is nothing short of a miracle to me. Also, I used it to fix 2 incidences of agonizing frozen shoulder in my girlfriend. One night she couldn't raise her hand above her hip, so I treated her. The next morning she was over 50% improved, and she got better with each day! We were both grateful. Additionally, it's been very useful in helping little aches and pains that hurt but one wouldn't go to a doctor for--headaches, neck strains, back ache, etc. I can't recommend this video and Bowen Therapy enough. I'm certain there are people or conditions for which Bowen would not be effective or afford relief, but I found it effective for myself, and I encourage others to at least try it and give it a fair trial test--it might be just what they need. It can't hurt.

This video details step by step the Bowen moves in such a way that even a 5 yr old could do it. Very precise and easy to follow, a bit tideous at times, but well worth the investment. (I paid over $1000 for a Live Bowen course and didn't get as much out of it as with the video!)

I live in a remote area. I would have to fly hundreds of miles to reach the nearest Bowen practitioner! And so I am very grateful to have access to this DVD to help my family members gain some relief from years of debilitating pain (migraines; fibromyalgia; arthritis). In each case there was an easing of pain and more and more relief each week. The instructions were very easy to follow and the results were amazing!

I purchased this DVD to help several family members gain some pain relief. I followed all 10 sets of Bowen moves carefully. The instructions were very clear and simple and I was able to follow along easily, even though I didn't have any previous bodywork training. After each session I encouraged family members to follow up on the suggested actions of walking, drinking water and waiting at least a week before having any other bodywork. The results were wonderful! My sister-in law (a skeptic) was shocked that her hip pain was greatly reduced and my mom gained a lot of relief from her fibromyalgia pain. I think that for people who do not live near a practitioner, this DVD is an excellent resource for helping family and friends get rid of pain.

Right after I received the DVD, my husband and I tried it. He followed along step by step. Gerri made it very simple, as he has NO MASSAGE EXPERIENCE. I was a little scared, so I began to pray and stuck it out. I did as the rest of DVD prescribed and went to bed, but without my heating pad and warm rice bag.

The next day I woke up feeling rather strange and prickly all over, like when your foot falls asleep. I drank my water but forced myself to keep moving unless it got painful. Day two, I was mobile like I haven't been in 3 years! Well except for early morning stiffness, which leaves sooner than it used to, I am feeling great! I have had 3 sessions now. Each time during the session there is pain, but thanks to God, to Tom Bowen, to Gerri Shapiro and to my sweet fumbling husband, I am getting better.

I was a skeptic, but it is working. (And I have an inch and a half medical record dating back to January 1999 to attest to all the years of suffering I've had.)

I ordered the Miracle Pain Relief DVD for my 87 year old dad's headaches. He was in constant pain. What a blessing! His headaches are history after two sessions! I am so excited about the Bowen Technique.

With the step by step instructions using the pencil + stickers as reminders of place to start, etc. it was easy for a family member to follow and do the therapy. I have had 3 sessions and can tell the difference in many parts of my body. I will continue a treatment every 5 days because I have had severe body pain for over 4 years. 6 months ago the Dr. named it Polymyalgia Rhuematica and put me on Prednisone. (I want to get off the Prednisone as soon as I can---I believe this Bowen Therapy will help me to do it.) After that long with body pain I know I will need MORE than just 3 sessions. I will continue them as long as needed---and then have them done as a maintenance for my body. Thanks to GERRI SHAPIRO, MS Ed. for the affordable DVD instructions--a very good investment for anyone. With beautiful peaceful Hawaiian scenes as the backdrop, Gerri used simple metaphors in nature to teach me how Bowen dissolves energy blocks and pain throughout the body. The question and answer section covered all I might want to know before starting any treatment.Gerri guided me through every single step of every movement and every hand position of a Bowen treatment. I personally feel that by studying this DVD alone, I could give a Bowen session. The DVD leaves absolutely no room for error. It is an awesome teaching tool! I highly recommend it!

This video provides a very clear, understandable presentation of Bowen. This was my first exposure to it and within 45 minutes, I'd completed a round on my daughter for her back. She felt some better right away even though she was a doubter as to how effective it might be. To my surprise, she came to me a couple of days later and said she hadn't realized how much her back had been bothering her until it got so much better. This is worth giving a try!!!

I wish I could say that my wife's sciatica had gone away or that it had even reduced the pain or even left it the same. In stead she has pain in additional places. We have waited in hopes (as it said in the DVD) that the body was remembering old injuries but the new pains haven't abated. We did 2 sessions a week apart. My wife is afraid to do the third.

The sheet accompanying the dvd was not helpful. The pictures were poor and so close up that you often could not tell where on the body the moves were being applied. Plus no stickers shown. It would have helped also if the photographer of the DVD had stepped back more often so we could have seen the whole picture - stickers and or movement better. Especially on the boomerang and thumb chase.
I believed it when they said you couldn't hurt people with this procedure.
