Miracle Seven the Best of the Best,
This review is from: The Miracle Seven: 7 Amazing Exercises That Slim, Sculpt, and Build the Body in 20 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
Description:
Miracle Seven is 197 pages written by Mr. John Peterson and Mrs. Wendie Pett and published by Bronze Bow Publishing (October, 2004). Both John and Wendie model the presented exercises. The Miracle Seven course features 56 exercises including the John McSweeney Tiger Moves (the "foundation" exercises of the book) and 49 more exercises for developing specific body parts. The additional seven work-outs are as follows: (1) chest, shoulders, and triceps, (2) arms, back, and neck, (3) Quads, glutes, hips, and calves, (4) abs and core, (5) arms, back, and the bridge, (6) legs, glutes, hips, and (7) additional strength exercises. The book's emphasis is on natural bodybuilding through an exercise system called Transformetrics. Transformetrics is an exercise system that incorporates Dynamic Visualized Resistance (DVR's), Dynamic Self Resistance (DSR's), calisthenics, and isometrics for the purpose of achieving overall good health and body sculpting. The book also contains personal stories, information on nutrition, and deep breathing techniques. High Points: It provides a step-by-step lesson approach that is easy to follow and understand. It clearly lists the exercises for each body part and proscribes recommended sets and repetitions. It features exercises for both men and women that can be done anywhere at anytime. The course has considerable content considering the variety of exercises (56) and the types of exercises (Calisthenics, Isometrics, Dynamic Visualized Resistance (DVR's), and Dynamic Self Resistance (DSR's)). Exercises are accurately explained in text and accompanied by photo illustrations as to how to perform them correctly. Miracle Seven presents a chapter on nutrition organized into five food "lists" from best to worst. There's also a section simply explaining the importance and misconceptions of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. With these basic tools a person can design a healthy eating program. I believe that Miracle Seven could act as stand alone fitness manual for a person; purchase this course and a person would have enough exercise material to last a lifetime and be strong and fit by most standards. John Peterson and Wendie Pett are in really good shape and do a wonderful job in posing. Both John and Wendie made excellent models and demonstrate the effectiveness of the system. Miracle Seven is a great book for people new to bodyweight conditioning, but this book would be useful to Olympic caliber athletes. Miracle Seven makes a great travel companion as its dimensions are 8.8 x 6.0 x 0.5 inches, making it easy to pack. Despite its small size it packs a lot of information; when I travel I take only Miracle Seven with me. Suggested Improvements: Additional isometric exercises should have been added for more variety. I count a total of five presented in Miracle Seven, at least each of the seven sections should have listed one isometric exercise. Miracle Seven sometimes times uses too few pictures to demonstrate exercises. Score: I gave this book a rating of five out of five stars. This book serves as an excellent complement to other bodyweight exercise books or other fitness programs. I highly recommend its purchase. It's a great addition to any fitness library.

This review is from: The Miracle Seven: 7 Amazing Exercises That Slim, Sculpt, and Build the Body in 20 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
This book contains exercises that are thousands of years old and yet are the most efficient and effective way to exercise in the twenty first century.
They have their origin in the ancient Yoga and Kungfu tensing exercises. They require no special equipment or clothing and give you the ability to exercise anywhere and anytime. The resistance is provided by your own mind using your imagination and visual imagery. The course consists of stretching and tensing exercises that are fun to do and because of the intense concentration you are developng your mind at the same time that you are developing your body. Give them a try-I bet you'll get hooked even if you don't like to exercise.

Finally,something that really works!!!,

This review is from: The Miracle Seven: 7 Amazing Exercises That Slim, Sculpt, and Build the Body in 20 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
I am a 56 yr. old male with severe degenerative joint disease from head to toe. I have had 6 body parts fused due to bone against bone pain due to loss of cartillage. I have tried free weights, nautilus, soloflex, bowflex, crossbow, total gym, trimax, kettlebells. I had to stop due to the pain. I became very depressed and felt like there was no more hope for me. I took a chance and bought the miracle7. That has turned out to be the best decision Ive ever made. I have been doing the exercises for two weeks and Im thrilled with the results. Best of all I have no pain when I do the workout and I am already seeing results. The book is written in a warm, friendly manner and it seems that Mr. Peterson is right in the room with you explaining things to you. I have had the opportunity to talk with Mr. peterson over the phone and found him to be friendly, knowledgeable, but most of all you can tell that he really cares about people and truly wants to help them. How about that? someone who actually cares about you even after youve bought their product. I had a lot of questions to ask him and he was very patient and answered each one without making me feel I was imposing on him. I used to wok in a health club a long time ago and I saw how customers were treated after they bought a club membership. They were promised all the help they needed with their workouts. After they bought the membership and had questions about anything the instructors made them feel like they were imposing on them. I even saw elderly women doing exercises so fast I knew they were going to hurt themselves but the instructors let them keep on doing it and didnt say anything. Finally I walked up to the women and told them to slow down or they could injure themselves. My point is that you can tell Mr. Peterson cares. In closing, if there are any of you out there who for one reason or another have given up or feel that there is no hope for you to improve your body and your health, please give the miracle7 a chance. I did and I am very happy with the results Im seeing. Thank God for you,Mr. Peterson, you and your book have made a difference in my life. Lou, Lakeland, Florida

Fantastic Bodyweight Excercise Book,
This review is from: The Miracle Seven: 7 Amazing Exercises That Slim, Sculpt, and Build the Body in 20 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
Forget the books that advertise that they have the all encompassing answer detailed down to 2 or 3 exercises....
Or the ones that advertise unbelievable results in 2 minutes a day. I received my Miracle 7 recently, and I'm floored. Pushing Yourself To Powere was an awesome collaboration or information (both John and Wendie's versions), but Miracle 7 takes it to the next level. This is not a 'beginner's book' at all. This is a much defined work that goes into much detail. Not only does it 'explode' the McSweeney seven with wonderful detail (intrinsic information about particular body positioning is great) but simplifies a diet regimen that is easy to follow, too. The various workouts that the authors, John Peterson and Wendie Pett, have set forth are great and more expansive than even PYTP and as far as the 'nay-sayers' who were a little put off that PYTP didn't provide routines....everyone at BronzeBow must have been listening. Where I see a great value to this book is its size and the amount of information per square inch of paper. I travel a lot for work. This book, if positioned correctly, can become THE book to provide guidance to an awesome workout for men and women a like that have to spend their time in a hotel. The size is a definite, briefcase advantage, too. A wonderfully laid out and well thought out instructional that breaks down individual body parts and gives the user/reader various ideas about how to work these areas. Another fine and useful product from BronzeBow. The worst thing that someone can do with this book....is to not open it up.

A true gem of Physical Culture,
By GreenMonster (Vancouver, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Miracle Seven: 7 Amazing Exercises That Slim, Sculpt, and Build the Body in 20 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
It is quite easy to be cynical when it comes to yet another book on fitness/bodybuilding/training. There are so many so-called "experts" out there, whom do you believe?
This, though, is a true beauty. John Peterson and Wendie Pett at Bronze Bow Publishing have written yet another brilliant book on what I would call true Physical Culture. Expanding upon what they began with in Pushing Yourself to Power, these two books have managed to ressurect good old-fashioned techniques. Call it bodybuilding, body sculpting, call it whatever you want. These techniques work and in a major way. They work, because they have been around for so long. Naturally, there will be those that snicker. How can one possibly build a great physique, NATURALLY, that is as strong as it looks, and more important, one that is aesthetically pleasing without using weights or the latest high-tech gizmo in a gym?? Easy. They have been doing it for likely a few hundred years. Peterson gives full credit to the likes of Charles Atlas, Earle Liederman and such who gave these methods to the world. What Mr. Peterson and Ms. Pett have done is their absolute best to bring these technques back into the mainstream. I lifted weights at one time, but no more. For more than 3 years now, I have stuck to good old-fashioned bodyweight exercises (which can be made as hard to perform as you want them to with some variations)and not only maintained what I built with weights, but enhanced as well. And this was before the methods presented here, Dynamic Visualized Resistance (DVR's) and Dynamic Self Resistance (DSR's) became part of my training. These methods are far from easy and will give you an incredible workout. This book is superb because it lays the foundation with The Miracle Seven (in of itself a fantastic routine), and then expands upon that with specialized routines for lagging bodyparts. All natural, and all to be performed for the most part with the closest gym in town, the one open 24/7, your own body! The chapter on nutrition is common sense, does not preach, and just tells you what we all really know is the truth about how to eat for best results. 5 "lists" of foods, from best to worst, and it is up to you how to design an eating program from it. Nothing faddish or extreme. Just the truth! These methods work and work superbly. This book will guide you in that direction. My only regret is all the time I spent in gyms. I can say that I would have achieved it all just using these techniques. I too was a doubter, but no more. All I know is that certain items in my wardrobe fit tighter (particularly in the chest and shoulder areas), and that I am looking better all the time. If you want a pleasing, eye-turning physique look no more. It's all here in this information dense gem.

This review is from: The Miracle Seven: 7 Amazing Exercises That Slim, Sculpt, and Build the Body in 20 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
This book in a sense unleashing many techinques overlooked by fitness professionals. I myself have been a member at what I refer to as an 'extreme gym'. By this I mean, HEAVY amounts of weight and somewhat inhuman ways of training. While Ill admit I did built much muscle it took its toll on my body. I am young and hardly ever experience any forms of joint pains. But after a month of this gym I felt years past my age.
If you are thinking 'how could this build muscle', think no further. It does, especially the section containing variation style pushups. John's nutrition plans are also very effective. I have seen an incredible increasein size, definition, and overall strength in my muscles. This is unsurpassed compared to any other method Ive tried. When you begin, you may not be able to perform all the exercises. DO NOT get discouraged, you will be able to short time. This program can work for men and women seeking weight loss. However, it can also be used by the dedicated bodybuilder to increase muscle strength and destiny no matter where you are in your fitness. Now comes to the reccommendation. I reccommend it for any man, woman, boy, or girl that wants to lose body fat while acquiring a sleeker figure. However, if you choose to buy this book (or any book for that matter) remember nothing comes overnight. There is no such thing as a quick fix plan for life. It will take time and dedication. But once you see the end results you will be happy for your changes.

This review is from: The Miracle Seven: 7 Amazing Exercises That Slim, Sculpt, and Build the Body in 20 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
yes, another completely satisfied customer of this great book but my case is different somewhat... I am a female close to being 50, practicing Callanetics since years and i became very proficient with callanetics, which is already quite an accomplishment, beleive me§ But still, my upper body was weak and i needed to improve. reading the goods comments on this book, i bought it and am very happy to see, about 2 weeks after having begun the exercises (and mind you, i just perform those 4 days a week) that i have comments on the improvements of my figure! in the upper body! wow! And yes, Wendie is very nice and caring. I am now a complete fan of those exercises!

I bought this book about a month ago and have created routines from the exercises in the book that I do every other day. I do back/biceps exercises one day, rest a day then chest/triceps, rest a day then legs/shoulders, rest a day then repeat the cycle. Being over 50 the day of rest between exercises I find works best for me becaue on the days I do the exercises I put a lot of tension into them. Even after this short of time the results have been very gratifying with increased muscularity everywhere. I can hardly wait to see the changes after another 6 mos. or so. I also like the fact I can do a number of these exercises anywhere even sitting at a traffic light or waiting in line at the supermarket (abdominal contraction exercise)! Get the book, do the exercises, you won't be dissappointed.

Most exercise books are boring. Instead of reading, I like to jump right in and start working out. Well, this book allowed me to do just that. It is not long-winded. Has loads of pictures. The eating recommendation list are extremely helpful. I rarely have time to run or go to the gym and these exercises allow me to stay in good shape.
Highly recommended....especially if you have been seditary for a long time.

I have been a regular exerciser for 35 years and this is one of the most amazing approaches that I have ever tried. I have had the book for months and all I have done are the basic seven exercises (there are many other exercises included in the book). The Miracle Seven can completely replace the need for weight training, saving you tons of time and money.
1. You can save time doing these exercises. I can rip through a set in about five minutes. If you only do two sets a week you will notice the difference. If you start doing multiple sets several days a week you probably won't believe what will begin to happen to your body. 2. These exercises will make you stronger. I have always been a strong man, but at age 54 I am happy to report that I have more upper body strength now that at any other period in my life. In my line of work I frequently have to help lift adults in order to assist them with the basic needs of living. I can do morel lifting with less fatigue after using this system. This creates functional strength that will enable you to accomplish your goals in life. 3. These exercises will build a very attractive set of muscles. I spent about a decade lifting weights (which I have stopped doing), but I now have more muscle mass and better definition on my upper body than I had before. 4. I can grab a quick workout whenever I want. If I'm dragging in the afternoon at work, I can find a place by myself and do all seven exercises in five minutes. No equipment needed, and you can do all of the movements while wearing casual work attire. I'm stronger. I look better. I'm spending about one tenth the time I was spending one weights. And it doesn't cost me anything. Give it a try. You won't be sorry. |
