What a BEAUTIFUL book! I'm an middle aged woman and I fell in love with this book! The story tugs at your heart and the illustrations are remarkable! I've never even heard of this story, written by Queen Marie of Romania, but I am SO glad that I found it! Enjoy, and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BOX OF TISSUES NEAR BY!

I got this book because I love the art of Sulamith Wulfing and the book sounded interesting. It's a very thin, hardcover children's book, but many adults would love the story as well.

It's a quick read, and you can tell right off what the future of this little sun child will be, and you can feel her frailty increase as you read along. The idea of her sacrificing her health and well-being to help take the pain and heavy burden of grief away from other people is touching. You can't help but wonder after reading this ~ Do we give enough of ourselves to help others? Do we know someone who gives too much?

This would be a very nice book to give as a gift.

A very exquisite and touching fable with the ethereal, beautiful art of Wulfing. I'll be ordering more as gifts for adults that need comforting (not that there would be any problem with children reading it).
