`The Miracle of Water' is well presented as an A5 size pretty looking book. Pretty, perhaps not doing it justice! Looking into this title is like examining a body of still water.... it runs deep.

`The Miracle of Water' is well presented as an A5 size pretty looking book. Pretty, perhaps not doing it justice! Looking into this title is like examining a body of still water.... it runs deep.

Masaru Emoto has written several other titles examining water including `The Secret Life of Water', `The True Power of Water', `The Hidden Messages in Water', and `Messages from Water, volumes I-III'. After reading this current book, I would love to have a look at his others.

This title looks at the relationship between words and water... I admit that at first this didn't sound all that interesting to me. That is until I saw the effects of various words and phrases on the development of water crystals captured in the fabulous photography presented in this book. How can words affect water? That is the first thing I though of when looking at the photographs: Emoto presents his theory on how language has developed and in turn how this affects the crystals within water. He presents many other ideas clearly and in an easy to understand way that will get you looking at your next glass of water in a very different way than you have in the past.

`The Miracle of Water' is more than just about the water in and around you. It also gives you good reason to stop and think about the type of language is used on an everyday basis, and it's effect not only on your drinking water but also on the people around you. My favourite chapter was `Understanding Vibration and Resonance' which goes into explaining how our words vibrate and resonate between ourselves and others.

As well as the effects of words on water, this title touches on the environment that water is surrounded by. For example the water crystals shown on page 98 have been left exposed to various environments and the effects clearly shown by the photographs. Water exposed to the electromagnetic field of a mobile phone, left sitting in front of a television for four hours, and water left sitting in front of a computer for four hours are some examples of different environments. The results are definitely thought-provoking.

In summary, although presented and written in a deceptively modest way, `The Miracle of Water' is a real eye-opener and presents ideas that are thought-provoking. If you are interested in making a difference to not only yourself, but others as well (not to mention the world), then this is a must read for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, August 27, 2009

I loved this book. It is incredibly interesting. It piques the imagination and makes you ask if this is real then what? This book makes you think and think. The pictures are amazing. The content is mind blowing!

There is an intention rice experiment in this book that helps you to wrap your head around the miracle in water that a lot of people have recreated on YouTube. The intentions, the words with their intentions are transfered into the water which the cooked rice is full of the water. And depending on the words the rice either rots into a gross liquid or hairy mess or it stays mostly white even fluffy for a very long time.

YouTube - Intention Experiment with Rice
Rice Hado Experiment Masaru Emoto

Just search rice experiment and you will find more. I did the experiment myself many times with many different words. My results were life changing. The jars that stayed white had one thing in common they either gave credit to God, Thanks to God, passage from the bible John 3:16 For God so loved the world, Forgiveness.

The jars that rotted had selfish and cruel words and statements written on them. Cuss words and the like. My daughter and I put to the test cuss words said in a bad way and the same word said meaning a good thing. They both rotted black very quickly. That turned her thinking around quickly and she realized that she needed to not be saying any cuss words around her new baby. She realized that just because the words are acceptable in todays society that does not make them acceptable and maybe there really is old wisdom in not speaking them ever!!

Prior to the experiment I was just an old fuddy duddy living in a time gone by.

Great book definitely worth purchasing.

January 2012. It has been over 2 years since I wrote the above review. I just came across the old jars of rice put away in a box in a closet. The jars of rice strangely did not continue to mold and become equally gross. The really gross ones are the same and the white ones are the same. No more additional molding has continued in the jars of rice. I would have thought that after awhile all the rice would have molded but it didn't. Very interesting!!

I so admire Dr. Emoto and his outstanding dedication to helping us to understand the importance of Water as a living breathing entity to be loved and respected AND MOST DEFINITELY NOT TO BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED! His books have stretched me intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually. THANK YOU, Dr. Emoto, for teaching me to truly appreciate the water that cleanses my body and soul.

I enjoy this man's work, and believe in what he does. I have found all his work to very fascinating and because of it I have more respect for nature and for my water. We know that we are what we eat, the same with our water.

4.0 out of 5 stars The power of love, May 4, 2010
By
This review is from: The Miracle of Water (Hardcover)
This book pleases from its first impression with the photo of a "love and gratitude" crystal on the lovely, turquoise-coloured cover and the widely spaced lines making for easy reading.

The book includes valuable chapters about vibration and resonance, but most of the book is actually about the wonderful energy of "love and gratitude", and Emoto explains in the introduction that he uses both words together when exposing them to the water. since "love is the energy that we give to others, and gratitude is the energy that we receive from others", the harmony between giving and receiving being important.

To my mind, this is the author's most "advanced" book to date (that I've read)- it's not just about water crystals, though beautiful water crystal photos are still included, and of course form an integral part of the book.

His message is a basic one about the importance of love and gratitude in our everyday life, and how if we ourselves become loving and grateful, we will transform not only our own lives but also our planet.

An inspiring book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Emoto may be misleading people, May 15, 2007
This review is from: The Miracle of Water (Hardcover)
Emoto's work is a revelation. His photographs clearly demonstrate two things - first, that our thoughts generate energy (that can be detected) and second, that water is able to capture and reflect this energy or that our thoughts affect the molecular structure of water.

Emoto has gained a big following in a short amount of time and my concern is that people may be assuming him to be demonstrating more than he is. And he seems either unaware of this or complicit.

Think about this for a minute - the scientist is very clearly affecting the outcome of the experiment. That is in fact the point of this and his previous books. This in itself is a great and significant accomplishment.

What Emoto's work does not demonstrate is that 'abused' water, water in cities or water that has been piped, distilled, or chlorinated loses its molecular integrity. His photos demonstrate that these water sources look bad, their crystalline shapes (subject to hard rock vs. Bach) all frazzled. But tell me this - how do we know what Emoto (or his staff) is thinking when they take these photos - of the 'abused' water. Emoto's work proves that our thoughts affect the molecular structure of water. So for Emoto to show that our disregard for water has an impact he must somehow separate the thoughts of the photographer from the source of the water.

I hate to rain on this parade, but it's best if we don't go blindly down this road. Emoto's work is important but let's not make it out to be more than it is.
