Book Description

September 15, 2006

The Miracle Within is the stroke of illustrated magic we've all been waiting for. Journaling life in the womb through spectacular images, this dazzling book captures the beginnings of human existence in a way that can only inspire amazement.

Pregnancy is so human, so fundamental to everything we are, and yet it remains a profound mystery even to the women who experience it. The Miracle Within takes you on a tour of the tiny secret world inside the womb to reveal the magic of nature, creating all that makes us human.

In addition to its stunning photos and loving quotes about childbirth, The Miracle Within provides a manual for mothers-to-be filled with practical advice and wisdom from two very experienced healthcare providers, Jack H. McCubbin, MD and Catherine M. Schaffer, PA-C. They guide you through the growth and development of human life from the ovulation of a single-egg to the full-term infant.

Pregnancy is a creative work in progress. Consider that the moment a sperm and egg are united a person's looks are determined. Your baby's makeup was determined years ago when you and the baby's father were still in the womb. The pregnancy process is a true miracle. In the past we have been limited to viewing the miracle only from the outside of the human body. Today, with this book, The Miracle Within, the authors can give you a glimpse of your pregnancy and its progression from the inside. The authors will show you what miracles actually look like.

The book is divided into trimesters that celebrate and acknowledge the unique changes that are occurring. As you progress through your pregnancy it is our hope that this book will help you to envision "The Miracle Within."

The Miracle Within was not written just for expectant mothers. It was written as a teaching guide for children and adults. It was written for parents to share with their teenagers. It was written for everyone who would like to witness the miracle we call life.

As an educational tool for schools, universities, libraries, and resource groups for pregnant teens, The Miracle Within offers an invaluable resource that answers the big questions while filling its readers with a sense of awe.

The Miracle Within is a gift of love that will change your understanding of life forever.

These two authors while providing a boat load of practical information for expecting parents also reveals amazing photographs of each trimester of pregnancy. I highly recommend this book to anyone with children, who want children, educators, doctors etc...I can't wait to share it with all of my friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Miracle Within by a Miracle Doctor, July 26, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Miracle Within (Hardcover)
This is a beautiful book written by a wonderful doctor. Dr. McCubbin is my personal gynecologist. I have used him for over 30 years. He delivered my daughter nearly 30 years ago. He is a wonderful, kind, compassionate doctor and I think he has done a fantastic job explaining what goes on during the life cycle of the greatest miracle we have all gone through. I would highly recommend this book to any expectant mother or father or for grandparents to refresh their 'memories'. He takes you through all three trimesters, in detail, along with beautiful, color photos showing what to expect during your pregnancy. I wish I had this book when I had been expecting my children...but I had the doctor instead. :)
