Book Description

March 29, 2005
You may think it takes a miracle to lose weight, build strength, and look great, but all it takes is the Miracle Workout! Developed by W. Jackson Davis, an expert in exercise physiology, this groundbreaking, scientifically tested, 3-step program incorporates aerobics, stretching, and weights into a fast, efficient, and streamlined workout anyone can do.

The key is Integrated Body Conditioning™ (IBC), which approaches the body as a complete interactive system. Train the whole system, not just the parts, and you’ll get more fit faster than with any other kind of exercise. After all: What is good for the whole is best for the parts.

Top athletes at the University of California have already seen amazing results with the Miracle Workout. Now you too can do it anywhere, at the gym, or at home. The best part? Your muscles won’t ache afterward.

When it comes to the Miracle Workout, three is the magic number:

• Discover the three secrets of the Miracle Workout: integrate different forms of exercise into your routine, exercise at a properly elevated heart rate, and monitor your progress by paying attention to your body.

• Master the three stages of the Miracle Workout: start with cardio exercises to build heart power, get flexible by stretching and bending, then build strength through resistance training.

• Start your Miracle Workout at one of three levels: beginners, intermediates, or advanced.

Illustrated with instructive, easy-to-follow line drawings, The Miracle Workout also includes: variations for the weight-conscious, the fitness buff, the athlete, the elderly, and those with specific health concerns; suggestions for adapting a workout to any setting–the beach, your home, a hotel room, even your workplace; tips for keeping it fun, staying motivated, and avoiding plateaus; and testimonials from those who swear by the program.
Forget trendy carb- and calorie-counting diets or grueling workouts that are impossible to maintain. Whether you’ve got fifteen minutes or ninety, The Miracle Workout will help you get into the best shape of your life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good book and training program, January 23, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Miracle Workout : The Revolutionary 3-Step Program for YOUR Perfect Body (Hardcover)
This really is a good book and great for people of all ages. The concept of elevating your heart rate and completing your weight training and flexiblity training makes total sense to me, and saves alot of time. I also like the idea of rating your pain level and your effort level to build your strength and cardio levels in a nice and steady pace without over or under doing it. I've integrated the Miracle Workout into my own cardio and weight training program and integrated the flexibility program in as well. I really like it. The only reason I didn't rate it a full 5 stars is I believe there are many more exercises to do than the book shows, but thats not really a valid argument, because if you learn and successfuly implement the Miracle Workout exactly as shown you will have no problem building and expanding on it. Again, I like this book and recommend it for people looking for a no-nonsense lifetime way to workout.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Miracle Workout, June 15, 2007
This review is from: The Miracle Workout : The Revolutionary 3-Step Program for YOUR Perfect Body (Hardcover)
A very well thought out program, and a nicely presented book. Easy to follow and very effective. Obviously this workout has proved very effective for various sports teams, but even for someone starting at a very moderate fitness level, this program is fun and extremely effective to improve strength, endurance, energy and general fitness. The statistical results proving the effectiveness of this program are highly credible and thoroughly convincing. Jackson Davis has done a very nice job.

1.0 out of 5 stars worthless and useless, September 21, 2008
This review is from: The Miracle Workout : The Revolutionary 3-Step Program for YOUR Perfect Body (Hardcover)
The only good thing I can say is this only cost me 58cents. I have a background in fitness going back to the 60's. I read Arnold's book back then; and was a PT(Physical Training) Instructor in the Army. I've been involved in this ever since and I read and collect alot of books. Basically he's saying a person should do cardio 1st, stretching 2nd, and resistance last....However; to be effective; a person must remain in the cardio elevated training heart rate mode while going to do the stretching and resistance. This means leaving the treadmill/elliptical/bike etc. to do the rest and quickly getting back on to keep the heartrate elevated. A few simple hand drawings are offered of stretches and exercises which require machines. No real workout is listed and the bulk is an overeducated worthless academic phoniying up figures to prove that at 62 he's stronger than he was at 30. Well I'm 60 and I know what I could do at 30; be it pushups, dips, running distance or sprints and it's less in all areas. This book and the pseudo-intellectual capitalistic pig that wrote it are no better than those TV infomercials that promise you "The Works" in fitness, losing weight, etc. if you buy their prod. Try "Ropesport" by Marty Winkler or "Bootcamp Workout" by Andrew Flach, Stew Smith, and Paul Frediani; or those military style workout books. This book is truly a waste of time even for free. Thanks:Meshugena Mike
