What I love about the book is that Sister Briege always affirms that it is God that heals not her.

The book is an excellent review of Sister Briege McKenna's journey

in faith. She reveals the necessary steps to a more

successful prayer life and a closer personal relationship

with Jesus.

The pages are filled with beautiful stories of spiritual,

physical, and mental healings of many individuals and families

that she has encountered along her journey.

This is a great book for those in need of healing (usually

all of us) as well as those who are close to someone who is

sick.

This year 2010 summer July when I went back to Hong Kong and stayed with one of my dearest sisters, Miranda's house, she let me sleeping in her studying room. My sister, Miranda, loves to buy many spiritual books, and also she is always so generous to buy the extra copies giving to her another twin sister, Marianna and me. While I was staying in her house, I looked around her bookshelves and found a book named "Miracles Do Happen" translated in Chinese. The book is very thin and small, and I don't know why I am attracted by the book. When I was first reading it, I didn't pay any attention and was more attractive the sisters gathering during the visit. For some reasons, I have desire wanted to finish it, so I decided stealing the book and bringing it back without telling my sister until recently I finished it. After finished reading this book, I am unable to start another book because I am still overwhelming for what Sr. Briege's writings...................................... I also decided to order 10 copies in English and distributed to my relatives and friends. I might consider to order another 10 copies for the RCIA candidates for their baptism.

I grew up with lot of Catholic educational background, and I was very active in my Hong Kong Catholic Church, but it was only after reading Sr. Briege McKenna's book that I really recognized the power of the Sacrament of the Eucharist. I started preciously taking the moment of the intimate time by receiving the Holy Eucharist. I take that moment telling Jesus my physically, mentally, and emotionally pain and praying His mercy in healing me and touching me. Sr. Briege reminds us of what we have in our Catholic Church/Faith and that Christ is a REAL PERSON in the Eucharist. Sr.

"Sister Briege Mc Kenna knows that God can do the impossible", is boldly insribed above the title of this book. Still, I was skeptical about a catholic nun who prayed in tongues. Amazingly, so was the nun even though she was instantaneously cured of her rheumatoid arthritis. Yet she resisted God's call at first, despite many confirmations of it, even from strangers; miracles in their own right. She wanted the gift on her terms; an identifiable human trait!
She became a "Sign-post pointing to Jesus Christ" and an instrument of a global, healing ministry in prayer, touching many lives and making a difference to some national leaders in Peru and Brazil, and her co-author, besides. She re-defined healing as "progressive" and miracles as 'instantaneous-happenings'. Both depend solely, on the Almighty - all Sr. Mc Kenna did was pray, have faith and be faitfully, obedient.
Her many catch-phrases are prophetic; eg. "Celebrate faith with faithfulness", "People with faith don't need to see miracles", "Prayer changes us, not God" and "the best way to pray is the way you pray best". I am one of her most recent converts, even though not a catholic and a Christian who prays in english (not tongues). Your prayers, found their mark, in me. Thank you Briege Mc Kenna.
Elizabeth Laine, author of, "A Butterfly Landed an Eagle".

This is a wonderful book. We often need to remind ourselves about the present of our Lord Jesus Christ in our daily lives, and Sr. McKenna has done a wonderful job of doing so. Buy, read and believe...

Our book study just completed Miracles Do Happen. It was incredible to see God open hearts and minds to Jesus' healing power. It's written in a simple style but it packs a punch in terms of presenting the Gospel. The son of a friend of our group was diagnosed with a recurrence of a brain tumor, and just like in the book, Sister Briege showed up in our town and was able to pray with him and his family. His prognosis is now quite favorable, praise God. If you want to hear the story of how Jesus still cares about His people, how Jesus is still in the healing business and you need a reason to have hope in Christ, this book is the best choice I've ever seen.

I have read many spiritual books to help feed my poor little soul. In this book Sr. Briege is very down to earth, current and her style of talking is very easy to understand. She gives real life experiences that help us to understand even further. She and Father Scallon just finished up our Lenten retreat and it was very good, inspiring, and motivating. You can tell she does not like anyone to pay her extra attention for any gift she has been given but only points us to Jesus. She reminds us of what we have in our Catholic Church/Faith and that Jesus is a REAL PERSON in the Eucharist. We have passed this on to our Catholic friends and family that would normally not read a spiritual book and they too mentioned how good it was and easy to understand.
