Among others, when I happened upon this collection, I thought that I too would be "ripped off!" Boy was I wrong, not only is the entire "City of Angles" album on this disc, but other Miracle hits such as "Don't cha Love it" and "Do it Baby" are included. You can purchase this disc at domestic prices and it is one of the best bargains around! Just to let you know, if Motown ever releases the albums, I will buy them, for SENTIMENTAL REASONS. These were songs/times of my life and are therefore priceless!! I give the disc FIVE STARS!!

One of Motown's long lost "Concept" a;bums of the mid 70's is finally back in print. The Miracles "City of Angels" album is one of the best albums put out by Motown in the 70's. And I am glad to have this in my collection, after hearing for years as a kid through my parnts' vinyl collection. And all the bonus songs
after the "City of Angels" is an even more special treat to have as well. Eventually i hope they will release the actual albums "Rennaisance", and "Dont 'cha love it" But for now this makes up for lost time

i've been waiting for this album for a very long time and at last, thanks to the people involved in reviving this...songs in this album are so classic that it's been played in movies, tv, and any place i could think of...my favorite is CITY OF ANGELS, such a beautiful melody..and SMOG, oh what a composition...too bad "they no longer make this kind of music"...at least i could take a deep breath now, just pop this baby in my player, and do some reminiscing...ahhh, the joy of music...

The first 10 tracks on this CD are the original "City OF Angles" (1975) tracks. I'd been hoping for this album to be on CD for years. It's a great album now finally on CD.

One other thing. I'd like to see the original "Love Crazy" (1977) on CD.

I am so pleased that "City Of Angels" can be heard once again. I bought the album when it was first released in the mid 70's. Loved it then, love it now. From the moment the overture begins to the last cut it is pure magic. We all had our doubts about the "The Miracles" after the exit of Smokey Robinson but the truth, with new lead vocal Billy Griffen the group pulled off quite a "Miracle" in this album. I grew up just outside of L.A. so this album touches my heart a bit. "City Of Angels" tells a wonderful story of one of the most interesting and provocative cities on the planet. Each song is unique in itself yet leads you forward on a wonderful journey to the next Song. Music that can be danced to and music that you just look forward to hearing. All the die-hard "Smokey Robinson & The Miracles" fans need to give "Billy Griffin & The Miracles" a listen. I know you will be very pleased.

I purchased The Essential Collection as it seemed to include two albums, or one entire album, City Of Angels, plus several other tracks. Having searched for City Of Angels for quite some time now, I decided to buy it. However, having recently purchased some CD's recently that either included shortened versions or radio edits of tracks, I opened this CD with some trepidation. My concerns were not eased when I saw that all 19 tracks were on just ONE CD. However, it was with great relief to find that I needn't have worried. City Of Angels is reproduced here in it's entirety....and more! I'm not familiar with the other tracks on this CD, but on just skipping through, there are some gems on there and I'm sure there are also some real 'growers'. After all these years of searching, I finally have the full length recording of 'Love Machine' in my collection. It's a miracle!

After YEARS & YEARS of waiting & searching, the absolutely SUBLIME Miracles' 'City of Angels' is available on CD!!! When I first aquired this on vinyl when it first came out, I played it over & over & over!!! It has always been on the top of my 'WISH LIST' to come out on CD & now that has finally happened!!! It still holds up!!! Billy Griffin & company truly shine in this wondrous tale of L.A. life. We all loved 'Love Machine' - but most are not aware of the other gems here such as the thunderous 'Overture', 'Night Life', 'Free Press', & my FAVORITE 'Smog'. 'Smog' is a song that gives you chills!!! It is a song that could easily fit on the playlist of any 'Smooth Jazz' radio channel & be an instant hit!!! You will SWOON over this CD!!! And as for the bonus material from other Miracles CD's: ('Do It Baby' in particular), it just doesn't get any better than this!!!! THANK YOU FOR FINALLY MAKING THIS MASTERPIECE AVAILABLE ON CD!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS ALL THE GREAT MUSIC I MISSED FROM THE BILLY GRIFFIN- MIRACLES' DAYS. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG TO RELEASE IT AND NOT FROM MOTOWN STATESIDE ITSELF? THERE ARE GOO-GOBS OF REMASTERED AND RE-ISSUES OF THE SAME OLD 60'S SONGS IN DIFFERENT BOX SETS AND PACKAGES FROM THE OLD SMOKEY-GROUP.....BUT THIS IS THE ONLY ONE ISSUED FOR THE LOVERS OF THE BILLY GRIFFIN ERA. THANK GOD IT'S AVAILABLE.

I, too, have been waiting a long time for The Miracles to re-appear, especially in the new market of CDs.

I have been desperately looking for one of their albums called "Renaissance" that I cannot locate anywhere? Can anyone suggest where I can locate this treasure?

I believe they were (and still are) one of the most talented groups in the industry and it is unfortunate that they did not get the recognition they truly deserved.

this the kind of Collection that truly showcases a Group once they lose a Key Member.Most Acts never Recover but The Miracles kept doing there thing with Billy Griffin on the Lead.they proved they could still roll without even the Great Smokey Robinson Leading the way.they went from the Polished Smokey Era Vibe to a More Attack form on these songs.
