Excellent book that gives you hope!,

This book helped me realize the importance of prayer and believing that your prayers will be answered. I also could relate to the testimonials given in the book. I shared this book with one other person and because of that others went out and purchased the book, a "pass-it-on" effect, if you will. This book by Quinn Sherrer has given many people hope and the ability maintain faith.

This Is A Wonderful Book !,
By A Customer
This review is from: Miracles Happen When You Pray (Paperback)
This book proves that we are worshipping a Living God who truly loves his children. He not only forgives our sins - He heals us, provides for us, protects us and even helps us find lost possessions and all through prayer and belief. The stories in this book confirm that we can turn to God not only for the "big problems" but also for the day-to-day problems that we may face. If we cannot believe that our God can still and will perform miracles, then our image of Him is a feeble one. I am sure this book will help to reinforce the reader's belief in God's greatness. This book was also written in a "relaxed" (no mind boggling theories and no bombastic language) style which makes it easy to read. The Scriptures which were included at the end of each chapter are also a big bonus for me.

The book, "Miracles Happen When You Pray," is a small book that is filled
with encouragement for those who may wonder if God cares about their needs - needs that may be small or huge, life-threatning needs for themselves or for someone they love. There are many inspirational stories of how God does hear and answer our prayers.

This is a life-changing book on prayer for the Christian. I had my own copyfrom years ago; bought at least 15 Amazon copies to give away since last spring. There is a Scriptural teaching on different kinds of prayers, then true stories of amazing answers to each kind of prayer. The reader/believer is encouraged/inspired to "pray outside the box" knowing that the God of the Bible can do anything. Very accessible and hard to put down!

A faith builder or not,
By Bationi "bonso book reader" (Sweden) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Miracles Happen When You Pray (Paperback)
On the back of this book you can read:
". . . Miracles Happen When You Pray shows hoe God is still in the miracle working, life altering business. He has answered the prayers of many - and he wants to answer your prayers, too". Well, I bought this book because I have been a christian for more than thirty years, prayed innumerable prayers, but still not seen one true miracle. (Of course, I see a new born baby as a miracle too, and a sunset or a glass of wine are also miracles to me but here we are dealing with the other type of miracle - the type Jesus did when he was around.) No, rather I have seen so many many frauds out there so I have become both confused, frustrated and sad about the christian situation. I do want to belive in miracles today - now - but I cannot base it on heresay. Thus I bought this book to become a miracle believer in spite of all my past experience. They have a quote in the book that quite accidentally hits on the sore spot: "Prayer is a powerful thing, for God has bound and tied himself thereto. None can believe how powerful prayer is, and what it is able to effect, but those who have learned it by experience." Martin Luther Now, experience means "something personally lived through or encountered"; "knowledge or practical wisdom gained from what one has observed, encountered, or undergone". It is so true, I my case I cannot believe how powerful prayer is because I have not learned it by experience. In fact my experience is the exact opposite! I have learned by experience during innumerable prayers and during many years that prayer is NOT powerful. Thus I bought this book hoping it would fullfill my needs. Sadly to say it did not. Why? Well simply because the references to persons and dates that are said to have experienced these miracles are of such very poor quality. Seldom full names, hardly ever the place and date and in very few places any way to check if the references are true or not. This is so very strange considering that the author says that she got so many letters with testimonials! I mean, how can I judge if they are true if they just say so and so especially considering all the frauds going on in this "christian business"? It is so very strange. Why is it that when it comes down to concrete verifiable data this type of book never deliver? Is it not possible for the author to understand the importance of a good foundation? Does not the Holy Bible itself speak about such things - build on a good foundation? And here the foundation is the testimonials and they crumble into stories that could just as well have been imagined by the author. There simply is no way to tell because the books lacks the data a reader needs to verify the stories. Thus the book is worthless as a faith builder for those having low faith or being sceptical because of past experiences. However if you are already a strong convert and have a very staunch faith then the book is probably a very nice reading. On the other hand, if you already believe in miracles you do not really need this book. Who then needs this book? None! |
