I am a Hung man!,
By C S M "ceematt" (Toronto, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Miracles:Happy Summer (Audio CD)
What can I say except that this CD is one for the ages! Just save this one for when you've got the top down on a hot summer day, at the beach. It just puts you in an indescribable summer mood! Just crank up his amazing version of "Surfin' USA", and heads will definitely turn your way, with smiles from ear to ear! Brian Wilson must be proud! His smooth, melodious crooning will bring tears to your eyes...trust me! Mr. Hung has a knack for making a song his own, and makes it barely recognizable in the process. I was considering putting some Sinatra into the CD player on Valentine's Day, but I think this one will achieve the magic mood, with all due respect to 'Ol Blue Eyes. A definite Desert Island Classic! What else can I say about this one...hmmm...oh yes, if you actually take this review seriously, you're probably the same kind of person who also takes this CD seriously and pans it! Giving it 1 star because he can't sing? Come on!! It's a novelty CD which isn't supposed to be taken seriously! And for those of you resentful that someone who "sings" like this makes money off of it, lighten up!! There's just something about his cracked crooning, goofy looks, and his aparent eagerness to make an arse of himself that's so appealing to so many ears! So get used to it -- not everything is supposed to be listened to in a serious way, and if you think this CD sucks because the sound of his voice could peel the paint off a wall, you're just not getting it!! Hey, maybe "Hung Sings Nat 'King' Cole" isn't too far behind? If so, I'm sure it's friggin' hilarious, too!

funny as hell!,
This review is from: Miracles:Happy Summer (Audio CD)
As an Asian American, I find this CD extremely funny. Unlike William, I grew up in a predominately white community and rarely hear asian accents (I speak chinese with my parents and my sister speaks perfect english). I couldn't do an asian accent if you asked me to, but i can still take a laugh at some bad asian accent! William Hung is the best! I find this CD to be more of Satire than anything, not intended to compete with the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rodgers, etc... Go William Hung!

William Hung is no singer. For those of you that have watched American Idol, you know that already. That said, Hung's vocal stylizing can only make you laugh! (It should also make you feel good in knowing that there is someone in the world that sings A LOT worse than you.) It is a fun disc all in all. "I Left My Heart in San Fansisco" made me cry--with laughter. And "Take Me Out to the Ballgame?" Hung never sings one note right, but it's a hit!

An underrated talent,
By Murry D. (Boca Raton, FL) - See all my reviews

William Hung is the kind of talent what the American Idol show should be finding: an untrained singer relying on his passion and love for music to EVENTUALLY become a great singer. Of all the singers on American Idol, William Hung best represents this ideal. He is obviously not trained but you can tell from the first second when his melodious voice starts on this album that he has loads of unrealized potential and that after a couple more albums like this, he will be one of the greatest pop singers of his generation. He is also some sort of yellowish Asian but I won't mention that because I am not a racist.

Oh William You Funny Little Dude,
By Dennis Casto (Auburn,Indiana) - See all my reviews

Once again we are blessed with William's one real talent.Himself.Even though this is a summer themed album there is some odd choices of songs.Such as Billy Ray Cyrus's hit "Achy Breaky Heart".You get a cover of Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" which i think William puts some emotion in it. A hoot of a song is his version of "Tie A Yellow Ribbon".The arrangement and music is kinda cheesy compared to the first album. But hey this is William Hung.I thought he would be a one album novelty act but somebody is buying his cds besides me.So Koch Records must know something to make another album with him.REMEMBER people this is not quality singing. Its one little Asian dude chasing his dreams of singing and got lucky just being himself.Which charmed and entertained America. It's for fun....thats it.Enjoy!

William's English makes this a treat. He still stretches for some of the notes. Overall this is a great album. Your children will love it. Buy ten copies and make William rich.

Ok first off I don't own this album but just to laugh I listened to the previews, god I gotta say they are quite funny, but all i'm putting this review down for is to congratulate Amanda Richard's poem which she porbably spent a lot of time on, and her review on his first album also made me alugh a lot! Keep going Amanda haha

Another Hung classic - his singing is worse, but the album is great! My least favorite of his three albums, but still well worth the $15.

Somebody PLEASE take that damn microphone away from Mr. Hung!!!!
He butchered one of my favorite Richard Marx songs. You are a complete fool to even like this guy! He's terrible!

(+ 1/2 of a star) GO WILLIAM!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Miracles:Happy Summer (Audio CD)
Hey people! I just wanna say congrats to William on his third album! Sure, his singing ain't all that great, but who's is these days? I don't own the album, (I'm hoping to buy it soon), but I listened to samples and I really think that it takes some getting used to, yes, but it really isn't all that bad! Also, I would like to thank the people who had GOOD reasons to write MEAN reviews, like if they at least listened to samples! I don't think it's right if some of you guys just write mean reviews because you didn't like some of William's earlier releases. But in William's case, I believe that any NICE review is welcome, because, sadly, the poor guy doesn't get very many of them! If you choose to buy this CD, I hope you like it, and I hope you don't stereotype (spell check?) William Hung as just another loser who didn't make American Idol. He is much more than that! God bless nice reviewers of this CD, and, as for the mean ones, it's OK if you don't like this CD, but do you REALLY have to be mean about it?!
* Hope ya luved this review! |
