5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!
"The Holiday Album" is one of my favorite Christmas CD's. All of the tunes are lovely however, the Brahms lullaby is heavenly! I listen to that song on any given day. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is poignant and moving in the expressions he uses in his phrasing. All of the tunes have his unique touch that only Kenny G can create. I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
I'd really give this CD 3 1/2 stars. It had the potential for being a great CD, but Kenny fell just a little short. In his attempt to make the holiday songs "unique" and his "own interpretation," he lost some of the traditional beauty of the songs. This is especially evident in songs like "White Christmas," "Winter Wonderland,"...

5.0 out of 5 stars An Album To RememberA Record Blessed By God Himself!, March 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Miracles: Holiday Album (Audio CD)
Now, "Winter Wonderland," the first cut on this wonderful record: a very happy, up-beat song; I like the brush on the drums in the background. "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is by far the best track on this record. Judi Garland was the first person to perform it, and she did in the movie "Meet Me In St. Louis." I would have to say Kenny's version tops it. He also won a Grammy award for it. Kenny also utilizes the smooth, soulful sounds of the tenor saxophone (a

nice change from the soprano-always good now and then). The strings and piano are Heavenly accompaniments to his sax. The final chorus of the song attacks both your heart and soul, and a surge of emotion just washes over your body. It's one his most memorable tracks-to me, anyway.

"Silent Night," "White Christmas," "Miracles," "Little Drummer Boy," The Chanukah Song," "Away In A Manger," "Brahms Lullaby" are all very soft, quiet, beautiful, from-the-heart songs. They are perfect to have around during the holiday-or any other time.

"Silver Bells" is a lite-rock song, and it *rocks*!

"Miracles" is, unfortunately, a very short record-36 minutes, actually. So it's probably best if you set your CD player to repeat, because you'll want to enjoy this masterpiece again and again. I hope Kenny comes out with a sequel-there are plenty of holiday songs out there for him to choose from!!

This is a record DEFINATELY worth your money, and will satisfy-for whenever or whatever mood you are striving to achieve-you in any way you want. For music to be this touching, it has to be, without a doubt, a Miracle from God.

Okay, before I complete my fourth review of Kenny's music I want to say something to all the negative reviewers out there: if you don't like the music, don't listen to it, and above all, don't be immature and put down not just Kenny G and his music, but all the people who love his music. Being an author, I always say 'flames will be used as target practice.'

-Kenny K

4.0 out of 5 stars Mellow, December 4, 1999

This review is from: Miracles: Holiday Album (Audio CD)
Kenny G's "Miracles" album is going to be the first one I play every Christmas season and the last one to be put away. This is just the kind of background music you want while sitting around chatting and enjoying friends and family during the holidays. The music is never intrusive and there's nothing here to jangle the nerves!

My wife LOVES christmas music, and I get her a few CDs every year. This one can't miss. I previewed the songs on the Amazon site and even an Ol' Humbug like me will enjoy listening to this one over and over as we go over the hill (ok- so its up I-95) to grandma's house for the holidays.

5.0 out of 5 stars FILLS YOU UP WITH THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS!, October 20, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Miracles: Holiday Album (Audio CD)
A wonderful CD! I live in the tropics with sunshine and beaches all year round. So it is very hard to imagine a Winter Wonderland, but thanks to this CD, one can get into the magical Christmas Spirit right away. Kenny G has mastered the art of conveying that warm and beautiful feeling of Christmas through his music ~ definitely a Christmas CD that must be added to your Christmas Collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who can beat Kenny with those mellow sounds--Oh, so nice!, December 2, 1999

Kenny has a talent and skill in his musical compostions that help me to relax and kick-back. His mellow tones and improvisational skills are without a doubt one of the most pleasurable listening experiences for me. This album is a must for those who want to enjoy and relax with some soothing Christmas music. I would like to hear some piano arrangements in future albums, as I believe it adds some interest and alternatives to his selections.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great, December 8, 2000
This review is from: Miracles: Holiday Album (Audio CD)
I'd really give this CD 3 1/2 stars. It had the potential for being a great CD, but Kenny fell just a little short. In his attempt to make the holiday songs "unique" and his "own interpretation," he lost some of the traditional beauty of the songs. This is especially evident in songs like "White Christmas," "Winter Wonderland," and "Away in the Manger." However, many of the tracks are good. "Silent Night," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," an up-tempo version of "Greensleeves," and "Silver Bells" are all very enjoyable songs. Kenny offers two original songs on this disk - "Miracles (very pretty song) and "The Chanukah Song." The CD ends with a pretty rendition of "Brahm's Lullaby," even though that is not necessarily a holiday song.

It could have been better, but it's still solid. It'll get some play in your CD box.

From the moment I first played Miracles, my room was filled with a lively yet soothing Christmas atmosphere. My roommate and I tested the CD on our men, and I must say the results were quite satisfactory. ;) I intend to take this beautiful album with me on my honeymoon next December; I'm sure it will set the perfect mood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Holiday CD!, December 21, 1998
By A Customer

Is it possible to wear out a CD and have to replace it? If so, I'd willingly replace my three year old copy of Kenny G's "Miracles". It's the first CD I reach for when the Holidays begin in late November. An excellent, always well-received and inexpensive gift idea, too!
