Book Description

November 20, 2002
Three-year-old Eric Turner announced to his mother, 'Mom, I hear her! I hear my sister. She's talking to me. She says that she's up in heaven and she wants to come be with our family very soon.' For the next 7 years, Tim and Shannon Turner tried diligently to make that inspiration a reality. But after recurring medical problems, Shannon was faced with a hysterectomy and the reality that a biological daughter would never come to be. Through faith and divine guidance, the Turners were led to the Great Wall China Adoption Agency and discovered their daughter was, in fact, waiting for them in China. 'Miracles for Marlee' is the account of their adoption journey, the challenges and obstacles in their path, and the pure faith in God that guided them on their journey to bring Marlee home. This story will inspire those who may be struggling with infertility, searching for spiritual strength, or considering adoption. The Turner's trials and tribulations will make you laugh and cry and you will be strengthened by the blessings the Lord bestowed upon them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Read!, February 13, 2003

I love to read, but I never sit down and finish a book in one sitting. I started this book late one night and finished it in the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't stop reading about this incredible adventure that Shannon and her family went on to bring little Marlee home. I highly recommend this book for anyone adopting from or thinking of adopting from China. I also highly recommend this book for family members of those adopting from China to give them an idea of what their family is going through. I was inspired by Shannon and her story in many ways. She even inspired me to get into shape for our trip to China! Her descriptions are superb - you feel as if you are the journey with her every step of the way. My husband and I are adopting from China and this book made the waiting easier for me. You will be amazed and inspired by this book and the love of this family for Marlee.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing adoption story!, January 22, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Miracles for Marlee (Paperback)
I bought Shannon Turner's book, "Miracles for Marlee" and finished it in two days! I loved it! I was amazed at all of the trials that her family endured, and particularly those that Shannon herself endured, as they struggled to add a daughter to their family. Ms. Turner did an excellent job of pulling the reader into her experiences. She dealt with emotions ranging from utter despare to total elation, and I felt every one of them as I read the book!

I am also the parent of a beautiful daughter adopted from China, so much of the book brought back wonderful memories of our own experiences in bringing our child home. Many people ask me about what's involved with adopting internationally, and I will be sure to refer them to this book. You don't just jump on a plane and pick up a baby; it's a long, arduous, expensive process that ultimately ends in a miracle.

Kudos to Ms. Turner for telling her amazing story so eloquently!
