In newborn mode, your baby's motion activates three tracking lights that softly pulse along the bottom of the mirror for visual stimulation and tracking, as well as 24 seconds of music. As your infant grows, parents can switch the mirror to baby mode to help develop coordination and motor control. As your baby begins to reach for the green pull-down handle, he is rewarded with a short little diddy, lights and the mouse "running" around the mirror.
Outside of the crib, parents can place the mirror upright on the floor for tummy play. The elephant's feet hold the mirror upright and reveal a black and white developmental pattern. Your little one can build neck and torso muscles while gazing in the mirror or at the intriguing patterns, and can activate the tracking lights with the touch of a hand. Lastly, once your baby can sit unassisted, the mirror can be placed down flat in front of your baby, and when he pulls on the green handle, he is rewarded with lights, music and mouse movement. A must-have developmental toy from Fisher-Price.

One of my son's favorite toys!,

As previous parents mentioned, this toy was not a big hit during tummy time; my son ignored it when he was really small. I then attached it to his crib figuring at least it looked cute. Then, once he got to be about 5 months old and strong enough to pull the cord, he loved it! He still plays with it all the time and he's a year old now. He loves it when my husband and I try to sing along with the songs.

OK, not great. Maybe for older babies than mine?,

Got this when my son was about 4 mos, because I wanted something to entertain him in his crib, and he was just getting into mirrors. He's enjoyed the mirror on this one, and he likes to smack the legs to make them swing. At first he liked watching the mouse go around when I pulled the cord, but he got bored with that pretty fast. His favorite thing to do is smack the mirror, I think because it flexes like a funhouse mirror,a lot more than his other mirrors. He hasn't figured out how to pull the cord himself yet, though he certainly pulls on other toys to make them "go". I don't know if it's the design of the handle, the tension on the cord, if he hasn't made the connection that the cord makes the mouse move, or if he just isn't interested. He enjoyed the lights & music for the first couple of months, but after that, didn't pay attention for more than half a minute or so. This toy does stand up on its own as advertised, but tips over easily.
This is just me, but I thought the mirror was fixed and the mouse moved around. Actually, the mouse is glued to the mirror, and the whole mirror turns. When he would try to grab the mouse, he'd hit the mirror, and the mouse would stop -- so it's not really doing what I thought it would do (teach him eye-hand coordination). But it did amuse him for a little while, so I guess that's something. Overall... it's OK. I feel like it's a bit expensive for the enjoyment my son has gotten out of it - it's just not his thing, while I'd been hoping it would be the new big hit, so I'm a little disappointed. Maybe when he's a little older (he's 7.5 mo now), I'll reintroduce it and see if he'll pull the cord, and maybe that will ignite his interest again?

We lost this toy in a tornado and here I am to buy a replacement! We got this as a gift and I didn't think much of it, but put it in the crib anyway. Well, once my baby figured out how to pull the handle herself at about age 9 or 10 months, she LOVED it. Keeps her in the crib for a few quiet minutes after naptime. Now at age 15 months, she pulls the lever to make me sing the songs to her. Love it!
