5.0 out of 5 stars Great little Subwoofer!
The Mirage Nanosub is surprisingly good. Mirage always builds great products but I didn't expect a lot from this small inexpensive subwoofer. If you like music, this sub really shines. Many/most subs can play loud and rattle windows in home theater applications, but most are not very "musical". This sub seems to be much lower in distortion than most subs, so the...

From day one I have been blown away by the Nanosat Mirage system. I am running a 7.1 system with this 8" sub. I was shocked by how clean and pure this sub drives. I didn't expect much from only 8", but somehow the Mirage delivered better-than-theater quality sound with hard-hitting bass and an obvious rush of air from the sub. I was the envy of all my friends! You'll...

The Mirage Nanosub is surprisingly good. Mirage always builds great products but I didn't expect a lot from this small inexpensive subwoofer. If you like music, this sub really shines. Many/most subs can play loud and rattle windows in home theater applications, but most are not very "musical". This sub seems to be much lower in distortion than most subs, so the clarity and tightness of the bass is truly exceptional. I use it in a bedroom 5.1 system, and it does great with movies too. It is small so it does not deliver bass so low that your fillings rattle, but it goes plenty low and plenty loud for my mid-sized room. My guess is it would work great in anything but a gigantic room. At this price you could by two or even three if you had larger rooms. The bottom line is, it sounds great and it's small enough to easily fit in virtually any room. Based on my experience and shopping, this is probably the best subwoofer on the market for under $300.

You'll notice I said "delivered." That past-tense was intentional because after just over a year of wonderful service, my sub blew, now putting out only barely audible sound. The 7.0 system is nowhere near as enjoyable as the 7.1 was! Unfortunately, the warranty expired at a year, so I am out a sub or a few hunderd dollars to buy another. I am reluctant to spend that much money on a sub that only lasts a year. However, it was a great year with a wonderful system!
