Simply amazing optical illusion. It is only completely effective when viewed from a range of angles - but it is completely convincing when you are viewing in this range. Objects that can be used with this size mirage are kind of small, but it is probably not worth getting the lager size mirage because of the cost. This is a nice novelty item for someone with an empty desk.

OK, these aren't laser generated holograms but it works great, and is a fun teaching tool. Good for science fair projects and a novel coffee table item. Product came quickly and was well packed for shipping. Had good service from this vendor.

The hologram was very cool and surprisingly realistic. It can be viewed from 360 degrees (horizontal rotation) but has more limited vertical viewing angles (this did not significantly detract from the illusion). Though it is really neat, it is seems to be a bit over priced for two pieces of plastic. However, I was unable to find it cheaper elsewhere.

it works great, and makes a cool gift. anything you put in it appears to hover in mid air...3D! I gifted it last christmas, and it is still on display on their coffee table. Don't expect much though. It's two plastic dome or bowl halves, really light weight, and more of a novelty than a qualaty piece of art

The Mirage 3-D Hologram Maker creates an interesting optical effect and is similar to a bowl that I remember from many years ago. Unfortunately the plastic materials used for this item are very cheap and easily scratched. The inner surfaces are mirrored to create the optical effect and the outer surface is black.
The shiny black outer surface picks up fingerprints very easily but is difficult to clean (even with a soft cloth) without scratching. The item is very light weight and not very sturdy. Because of this I do not think the roughly $25 cost is justified and would consider returning mine to Amazon for a refund.

The illusion works pretty well. the actual mirrors aren't perfect, there is some warp. The plastic backing material is thin and cheap too. It has already developed some small cracks. It gets the job done, but barely.

I do believe that this particular item is higher quality than the other imitators (but I can't verify this, not having purchased the others), but it's far from a precision optic.

Santa brought one of these when I was about ten, and so even though I knew it was just two pieces of plastic (two mirrored parabolic halves), the effect was neat enough that I got one for my kids thirty years later. To see a real 3 dimensional image of say, a stack of quarters, or a diamond ring, and then to put your hand right through it, is still amazing. My kids have shown all their friends. Seeing is believing, but not with this. It's overpriced at $40, but still worth it. The company also makes a 22 inch model, but those are about $1500. Getting the optics right is not easy, and that's where the expense comes in. You do have to be careful not to get fingerprints or scratch the mirrors as that degrades the image. My ten year old rates this product five stars.

It's a nice gadget but the illusion strictly depends on the viewing angle. You can get an almost perfect result but only from one specific angle.

I ordered the bundle which was this item and another that I thought was different but it was the exact same thing, much bigger and only $9.44! This hunk of junk is smaller and is a whopping $35! In this economy, was it worth it to pay that much for two pieces of plastic and a plastic frog? I am seriously considering sending this thing back. Shipping is the only thing that's stopping me.

i want to ask some questions:
1- what is the power source used? and how long time can it be used in work?
2-Can i put any image to display by hologram?
3-what is about sizes of the images displayed by the hohlogram?
4- how far is the image displayed away from the device?
5- does it display images only? no video?
6- when i use the device only the beam out from the device no accessories to recive image on to appear?
