5.0 out of 5 stars BOOOM!
Hi!..can't think of enough words to describe this album.I wish i could give it 100000 stars ! this album features some half-dance half ethnic-voiced songs, and some very quiet pieces with ethereal voices featuring crickets and other incects from a rain forest.Sublime, transcendent, overwhelming.I recommend it to all of you who are looking for some exquisite music.

1.0 out of 5 stars Should CD-producers also be musicians?
What I heard from the piece I downloaded from this CD: 'Legend of the Spring' was chopped samples of different bits and pieces of 'eastern music' forced into an electronically square metric rhythm. I haven't heard the whole CD, but what I did hear missed all the timing, the subtle rhythmic variety and storytelling of Indian or 'asian' music. It made me wonder if the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful tapestry mix of ancient meets modern, May 1, 2000

This music is amazingly multilayered and yet as simplistic as it gets which makes it a great listening enjoyment from beginning to end. Over and over, one does never tire of beautiful vocals soaring over melodic music that is heaven to the ears. Sorma has out done themselves, this is their best music to date. I hope they stay on this path and continue to explore this musical genre. The band used vocalists from Northern India and from Mongolia to sing on this CD and it pays off quite nicely. My musical tastes have grown over the past year and this is my favorite type of music...good sound, ethnic fusion with some class...this CD has both and you will not be disappointed. I hope you enjoy this CD as much as I have and will continue to as these magic sounds transcend time.

My wife and I have been playing this to lull us to sleep about twice a week for the last 3 months! It's exciting to here as it weaves through different moods. It just gets better.

I've had this CD for years and am loving it more and more. I like to pop it in during road trips and it never fails to get comments: "what is this? can I borrow it? this is SO good!" Everyone is simply awed by it. I've pretty much started using it to impress new friends. Whether you're looking for mystical, upbeat, haunting, or relaxing, it has a track to fit every mood.

It made me wonder if the 'mixers' themselves actually played musical instruments.
