Sweet sound!,

We added a Nanonsat center speaker to our 5.1 Nanosat speaker system, and purchased this Nanosat to make a complete 7.1 system. The sound is open, airy and never fatigues. The size of the speakers is just right for the space - they fill our 25' x 15' living/dining room with clear neutral sound without also filling it with their own physical presence, though they look very sharp. The construction quality is satisfyingly solid and they were simple to mount on universal speaker stands bought elsewhere. The price was perfect for the budget and the purchase (from Crutchfield via Amazon's storefront) was easy and quick - and the shipment arrived sooner than expected. What more can I say? I highly recommend them. I've owned a variety of high-fidelity speaker systems over the years, and only wish I'd discovered Mirage a lot sooner.

Awesome sound from a small, attractive package!,

Just received a couple Nanosat satellites to replace the speakers on an aging small bookshelf system, with an eye towards eventually expanding into a full home theater setup with a Mirage sub and additional Nanosat satellites in my bedroom.
Right now I have just two Nanosats hooked up and can say that, even before being broken in, they have impressed me. Construction is impressively sturdy; aesthetics are sharp; and the sound is better than I could have anticipated from something with such a small footprint. (For some types of music, they seem quite full-sounding, even without the sub; for rock or anything with a lot of bass, though, you'll definitely want to pair them with a sub.) Apparently Mirage is updating the Nanosat line soon, so these are being sold at a discount in many places. I got mine from Vann's, which is selling them for $300 for a set of 5. While I can't comment personally on the sub that Mirage pairs with the Nanosat 5.1 package, it looks like a great deal, too, at $599 on Amazon. The soundstage created by Mirage's omnipolar technology is not just marketing hype: now I understand what other reviewers have talked about. The Nanosat's sound is very open, neutral, expansive, and non-fatiguing... in short, they seem ideal for a small to mid-size room, for music or home theater applications. They disappear into the environment, aesthetically, as well as sonically. The Nanosat will eventually form my second home theater setup. My first is by Orb, which makes lovely round metal speakers about the size of a grapefruit that can be configured in any number of ways. Aesthetically, the Orbs are a little more attention-grabbing than the Nanosats, but their radical design might not be for everyone. The Orbs sound really good, too, in a far more directional way than the Mirage; they are also somewhat pricier. I am so impressed by the Nanosat thus far that I might regret having spent the extra money on the Orbs. Time will tell. For now, I highly recommend the Nanosat, especially at current closeout prices! UPDATE: I now have all 5 satellites hooked up, connected to a Harman Kardon AVR and using a Mirage S10 subwoofer. My regard for this system has only gown during the break-in process. The speakers sound phenomenal, better than I ever expected. Due to the omnipolar technology, sound seems to permeate the entire room, rather than emanating from a particular point. I give these a wholehearted 5-star rating!

Sound is clean and clear...,
This review is from: Mirage NANOSAT - Satellite speaker - 2-way (Electronics)
For their size, these speakers sound fabulous. They completely fill a 18' X 12' room. The sound they reproduce is clean, and neutral. I use these in the bedroom as a left and right channel, although I feel that they would also do just fine in my main entertainment room. They stay clear at very loud volumes, and I've been tempted to use these to replace my entertainment room speakers.
I'm not crazy about the way these handle the lows though. It's not an issue for me as I added an old Onkyo sub for that, and I'm completely satisfied with the sound this way. The sound is awesome. I'm not sure that I'd use these as a center channel though(like they do their 5.1 theater set up), as I'd probably look for a center speaker with more direct beam of sound. The reviews are high though. I can also confirm that my set was made in China, but the quality seems high.

Great budget speakers,

These are great speakers for this price range! At first glance, I had no intention of buying these. I was against the small size and didn't think they could get loud enough. This installation was for my parents. I own Klipsch floor standing speakers, but my parents didn't want to spend that kind of cash for their home theater. After reading some reviews and online forums, these speakers were held in high regard. For the price, of course.
After installation, I was pleasantly surprised. The speakers can get fairly loud in volume, although they do lack a bit of mid-range sound. For those who pump up the bass, this may not be the set for you. The powered subwoofer included with this set is not suitable for large rooms or "rumbling" bass. The subwoofer speaker isn't a large unit with a lot of power. Thus, it is satisfactory for "punchy" bass, but not for any extended bass in a large room. If you are an "audiophile" looking for speakers for this price, you may have to realize that you are not going to find anything to your satisfaction. You'll have to pony up a LOT more cash for superb "reference" level speakers. For the general user, the Mirage Nanosat speakers are great. The performance is beyond other speakers of this price.

Got the job done in a tough situation,

Was looking for replacement rear surround speakers as it was impossible to get a proper rear surround "feel" due to sitting position and speaker location. The speakers were easily installed and after some minor tuning, completely opened up the rear surround sound from my system. Definetly going to change the front ones now. Recommend whole heartedly.
