After shopping around a lot, I took a risk and went for this cheaply priced unit. Hands down beats the pack with full-bodied sound. And it can get LOUD!
I may buy another for another room.

The best iPod sound available in such a small footprint,

The OmniVibe has great, room-filling sound and looks good too.
What might be the most distinctive feature of this unit is the omnidirectional driver arrangement. It really works well at filling a whole room with sound and giving a great presentation on all sides. The volume potential is very good, and the sound is pretty well balanced. I recommend this unit highly.

Does everything it's supposed to. Great quality, good build, compatible with my Old Ipod MINI! Only issue I have with it is that when you unplug it and then plug it back in, the music plays FULL BLAST and is a bit scary. Just make sure you are close by to reduce the volume :P
Remote is a bit finicky too, but I dont really use it that much. It's hard to skip songs and instead, it fast forwards it. You need to press FIRMLY on the button and aim it perfectly at the unit. Overall, 8.9 out of 10.

what a deal for $59!,

I bought one of these because I have owned Mirage speakers in the past and know they make great products.
I have an Altec Lansing 2.1 PC system that I use with internet radio and my laptop as I work throughout the day. I also recently bought a JBL radial micro ipod dock. Neither of these units are remotely as hi-fi as the Mirage. The sound quality is shockingly good. An added benefit is that the omni technology doesn't require the listener to be in a "sweet spot". I am so impressed with the sound of this system I am going to look at changing my RBH 5.1 home theatre speakers to Mirage Omni's. For $59 this is a deal!

Great for deployments,

I am really pleased with this docking station. It has a pretty good sound, is reasonably compact (this only means that it can fit in the bottom of my duffel bag, it really isn't THAT small), and it's volume is loud enough to fill my room. It is perfect for my tour over in Iraq. The clarity of the sound is amazing; the bass is a little light, but I really didn't expect too much there. It certainly doesn't detract from the sound. The package is very nice looking, and the controls are simple push button, easy to operate.
The reasons this gets a 4 instead of 5 on this review: the design of the system is really suited for the large iPod. It plays my Nano with no problems, but when I try to take it off the connector, I must (rather akwardly) squeeze a finger on each side of the Nano and pull. Three out of four times this means I drop my Nano. Not a good feeling. The only other issue is that the volume control jumps the volume up or down in "blocks", rather than being able to adjust on a "sliding scale" control. This is not too great an issue, however, as the blocks are small enough that you can get approximately the volume you were looking for. All in all, I am very pleased with this station. I managed to pick mine up on sale from Amazon for approximately a third of the listed price. Really great value. Once I redeploy back home, this will go straight to my room for my wife and I to enjoy when the kids are asleep.

Who would imagine that this small docking system could beat out the others? Compared to Bose and Kipslich I would rate this a close third. When it comes to value, I would have to put the $60 price tag ahead of the $400 price tag. Enjoy!

When this first came out it was priced at over $200. It was a good deal then, excellent sound quality and styling! Now that it's selling for 1/4th the original amount it's a smoking deal. Too bad Vanns customer service sucks a bit!

I purchased this based on other reviews. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase considering the price paid. I thought about getting a system with a radio built in and still think that might have been the way to go. However, if you do not need a radio, I like this system. The sound is very good. Good base. Solid sound. The remote works well from across the room (20- feet or so). My only complaint is that sometimes when I put the Ipod on the unit and turn it on, the sound is at near full volume. It was at a very low level when I turned it off and removed the Ipod previously. That being said, I purchased two units, one for work and one for home and transport the Ipod between the two every day. They both get lots of use and sound great.

The Mirage Omnivibe is an impressive looking docking speaker for the iPod. It leaves quite a large footprint and is best suited for an area that can support the amount of space needed and not suited for putting on a kitchen counter. The 360 degree sound is not something I really notice and seems a little lackluster to me, I guess I was expecting more. This unit does not do well at lower volumes and sounds a little muddy when played quietly, however when played at higher volumes the music rings out clearly and is very pleasant. I have my omnivibe on the kitchen counter where it does take up alot of space and usually listen to it while cooking and cleaning up at low to medium volumes and I must say I am not satisfied with the sound quality at those levels their is no punch to the music at lower volumes. When I bring the unit outside to enjoy music while we sit on our deck and enjoy the summer sunshine I absolutely love the sound quality as the Omnivibe is pushed to higher patio filling volumes. I purchased this unit from Vanns through Amazon for only 5O dollars and knowing what the msrp originally was it is a good buy. No complains about Vanns either. They were a pleasure to do business with. If you are looking something to play loudly to fill a room then this is the unit for you, if you are looking for something that sounds good at lower volumes you may be better off looking at something smaller or way more expensive.
I do have some quality issues I will address. After a couple months of owning the Omnivibe the onboard + volume button stopped working making it so I can only control the + volume using the included remote. I contacted Mirage about the problem and they offered to replace the unit with an RMA and they were decently responsive so no issue with the user support. But I must say the included remote control is garbage, it barely controls the unit up close (2 feet away or directly from behind) and forget about it at distances more than a couple of feet, it is extemely frustrating pointing and clicking trying to control the volume or move to the next track. The other thing about the remote (and this is not a gripe) I was hoping I could control the iPod a little bit more with the remote. This remote only allows you to turn the unit on/off, play/pause, volume up/down and mute, and move to previous or next track. You cannot use the remote to navigate your iPod. I should have done a little more research when purchasing but the 5O pricetag hooked me. All in all I am satisfied with the Omnivibe but don't advise anyone to spend anymore on this than you have to.

The ipod dock stopped working after just a few uses, so I connected it to the back of the speaker using a cable. That worked for a little while. Now, the power will not come on. Hardly used it and now worthless junk.
