Miranda's Magic Garden is a beautifully written and illustrated children's book that transports the reader from the world of nature into lush dreamscapes. It tells the story of a lonely little girl who lives in a big city with no prospects for friends except the plants in her garden. Guided by her dreams and imagination, Miranda embarks on a courageous journey of self-discovery to face her deepest fears. The young heroine ultimately triumphs and creates a realm of wonder and magic in the heart of the city. By following her destiny, Miranda wins many new friends and shares with them the joys of gardening.

This book is not only wonderful literature for children, but also helps parents understand the true value of dreams.

Review

"My Seven year old son, Christopher, loved this book, and I enjoyed reading it to him. It is full of worthwhile and important messages" -- Jack Canfield, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul

About the Author

In her dynamic career spanning twenty years, author, performance and recording artist, Linda Atnip, has always been a communications visionary who paints pictures with words. A native of Winchester, Tennessee, she graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and worked as a television news reporter and entertainment editor before relocating to the West Coast and devoting herself full time to a writing and performing career. For the past ten years, Linda's dream life has been a very fertile ground that directed her to write two collections of poetry, When the Heart Sings and Earth's Sacred Chant; a one-woman show, The Dream Voyage and this children's book, Miranda's Magic Garden. Her nightly excursions are not random events, but a series of carefully orchestrated messages leading her toward a life's work of inpiring others to live their dreams.

5.0 out of 5 stars A self-confidence builder, especially for girls, June 24, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Miranda's Magic Garden (Hardcover)
This is certainly one of the most inspiring children's books I have read. As a father of a four year-old girl, I have been asked to read and re-read this book over and over again! The illustrations are marvellous, with a mystical quality that inspires imagination and fantasy. The words touch my daughter in a way most other children's books do not. Not since the Rainbow Fish has my daughter been so impressed with a book and with a story. A must-read, especially for little girls

By A Customer
This review is from: Miranda's Magic Garden (Hardcover)
As a mother of two little girls, over and over again I have to read to them Miranda's Magic Garden. Both love the story, the illustrations and the audio that goes withit. Riding in the car, all of us sing "The march of the sunflowers."
