Format: Hardcover
Gill tells the age old story of man's inhumanity to man in a fresh, compelling way. Her characters are richly drawn and you cheer them on as they experience the indignities of anti-semitism and prejudice. The story is full of special moments that illuminate the experiences that unite (and divide) us as humans. While at times gut-wrenching, this is ultimately a story of triumph and a celebration of the haven and promise land that America was for many immigrants in the early Twentieth Century.

Format: Hardcover
I read in the local newspaper that Mirel's Daughter was the best seller in Louisville, KY so I bought it. Wow - what a story! Although it's sad what this little girl went through, it is an uplifting story in the end. It's just amazing that she survived and it serves as a reminder of what America means to people across the globe.

Truly a great story that grips you from page 1.

Kay Gill writes so beautifully. She pulls you into the book with great anticipation for the next page... until you feel as if you ARE Sonia, running for your life. What this little 10-year old girl must go through is amazing. This book touched me, making me more aware of the gifts I have in my own life.
