Here we go with 20 words again. The item is good and works well. I would order them again without hesitation. I would recommend these if you have sanding to do... what else can I say.

This is good sandpaper, lasts longer than cheapo sandpaper. hook and loop system is well made enhancing stickiness to pad, not all sandpapers are like this.

The Mirkas were available both at Amazon and my local woodworking tool store, they fit my new Bosch 3727DVS (see review) and so I bought them.
How long they last depends on wise use. I think most people will need 50, 100, 220 and 320. That is $80! However, starting with 50 and working up saves time and makes the disks last much longer. Also, that progression creates very good results; flat, smooth and swirl-free (or very little). The hook and loop design is great. I used to have sanders that required glue to attach the disks. This is soooo much better. Also, because the disks are so easy to change, you will be more likely to use the correct ones and this extends their life, makes for easier sanding, etc. When you order disks, be sure you get the right ones! There is no standardization. There are different diameters and different numbers and configurations of holes for the vacuum function. Go out to the garage and double-check! Make use of the vacuum system. I use a Fein with auto-start and the long 1.25 hose. Something like that will make your dreaded sanding routines much better. Also, the vac not only cuts down on the dust almost completely (and it turns out that dust is very dangerous), but it sucks the sander down to the surface and that makes it easy to use. All this costs a lot of money, of course. But, if you do a fair amount of wood work, there is no better or more pleasant way to get that sanding done. I knocked off a star because I think they are expensive. |
