Product Description

From the Manufacturer

One of the unique things you'll discover about this wonderful, practical solution called the Mirra Personal Server is that it works with you and your PCs in so many ways. Clearly, you get the peace of mind that comes with an all-in-one, automatic backup system. But it offers much more. Let's say you travel. And you take tons of digital photos and videos. What you really need are centralized storage and easy remote access. With the Mirra Personal Server, you have it all in one.

Centralize all your content by backing it up to a Mirra Personal Server. It gives you a single directory view for the PCs in your home. It's your personal content vault.

The Mirra Personal Server makes it a snap. Just attach the new PC to your network and copy all your folders from your Personal Server to your new PC. If you already have more than one PC at home, Mirra backs up and protects any Windows XP and Windows 2000 PC. Use passwords to secure your privacy in a multi-PC home.

Forget worrying about losing important files and photos in a crash. Your Mirra Personal Server copies and protects your files automatically. No worries, either, if you accidentally delete a file -- your Personal Server restores any of 8 previous versions.

The Mirra Personal Server is for those of us who have no IT staff to call. Setup is a snap. The Personal Server automatically detects your network, so you have no IP settings to fiddle with. Just enter your license key and you're ready!

Your content is always stored locally on your Personal Server behind your firewall. We use SSL to protect your transmission during remote access and file sharing.

Mirra Personal Server Key Features:

  • Hands-free Continuous Backup. Once you select a folder for backup, every time you edit or save a new file in that folder, the Mirra Personal Server instantly and safely backs it up and versions it. No CDs to burn, no tapes to load. Restore any of 8 prior versions that have been automatically stored. You can even restore files to a different Windows XP or 2000 PC. The Mirra Personal Server works with files, photos, digital videos, MP3s, emails - all your data files.
  • Fully Secure Remote Access. Access your important files and photos securely anywhere, any time from any Internet-connected PC through www.mirra.com. It's completely free. Remote access to your files and photos is automatically "on" once you create an account and back up your files to your Personal Server, so there's no VPN to set up, no firewall to hassle with, no need to remember to leave your PC on.
  • File Sharing Over the Internet. With the Mirra Personal Server, you can securely share important work and personal files with others outside your home office. No more bounced emails, less time wasted uploading large files. Sharing is free, so invite your friends and colleagues to set up private, password-protected accounts at www.mirra.com. Better yet, if you regularly share files and photos with the same people, you'll like your Personal Server's persistent sharing feature. Next time you save a new file to the shared folder, it's instantly available at www.mirra.com, but only to those you've granted access. Sharing is easy, secure, and under your control.
  • Easy to Set Up, Easier to Use. The Mirra Personal Server pretty much sets itself up for you - no IP addresses to mess with, no subnet masks to set. You can be up and running in as little time as 30 minutes. And once you set it up, you can forget it. No buttons to push, no CDs to burn. We designed it for people who have no access to an IT professional and better things to do with their time.
Additional Mirra Features:
  • Security. We use an email address and password to authenticate you and anyone else you share with before making files available for download. Additionally, we use SSL for secure transport outside your home or office when connecting to the Internet. Click here for detailed information on Mirra security and privacy.
  • Privacy. Your data is never stored on the Mirra web site. You keep your files safe on your Personal Server behind your firewall. Others can access your files only if you invite them to and only if they authenticate, and they can access only the specific files you want them to see. We also offer optional folder password protection within your local network if more than one user is backing up to a single Personal Server.
  • Auto-versioning. Your Personal Server continuously backs up your files and automatically saves up to 8 versions of each file. You can restore any saved version of a file. Activity Logs. An Activity Log and detachable Status Bar provide detailed feedback about activities related to backed up and shared files so you know your Personal Server is always working for you.
  • Health Checks. The Mirra web site constantly monitors the health status of your Personal Server and makes those health checks available to you locally and remotely.
  • Virus Protection. Your Mirra Personal Server is not susceptible to Windows viruses. So if your computer is infected by a virus, you can use your Personal Server to restore previously backed up, virus-free versions of infected files.
  • Auto-upgradability. Your Mirra Personal Server can be automatically upgraded with new versions of Mirra software.
